The End of HCOP OD Day

The next 12 chapters should be posted in 7 days from now :P.

Well, it started with a case of the giant golden crabs, moved onto a bit of dragon slaying, they only made it half-way through the next zone before getting stranded there… in Xianxia Parody Land.  Obviously, they wanted to get the fuck outta there as quickly as possible, but as with all Xianxia, it only took them a few minutes before some racist assholes try to murder them for no apparent reason.

They discover a mysterious hidden shapeshifting fox village, finally gain the ability to sell things, Inari gets her fox-girl form, she evolves twice, and then the seven of them go on a rampage in Dong-Land.  Of course, they had to slaughter their way through the Outer and Inner Disciples, before their demonic overlords showed up… Giant Chinese dragon, that Naga guy, portal to hell, and finally, the info-dump chapter lmfao.

I hope you enjoyed all of the Dong jokes, and managed to catch all the stupid Chinese idioms that I somehow injected into the ridiculous dialogue.  The saddest part, is that my parody of Xianxia, isn’t even as ridiculous as the actual nonsense that happens in most stories like that lol.

Anyway, here’s the “Donation” page link and goodnight/morning depending on which side of the world you’re on rofl.  For me it’s actually 2 days ago at 2 am, but that’s because I wrote this right after I scheduled the 12 chapters :).

  1. Fully agree, I hope this story continues for several hundred more chapters. This story is WAY too good and funny to end so soon. Plus it’s only been a month?, too chucking strange if this story didn’t last over 2k chapters if the story keeps up the current time flow with the chapters.

When it finally does finish in the distant future preferably, then we can get more for immortal soul!

    At least I hope so. : )

    • Lmfao, yeah, Dong is a funny name. Especially when you put Long before it lol. Unfortunately, there’s no Small or Tiny in Chinese as far as I know(Like phonetically). Although, I could have had them call each-other “Big Dong” and “Little Dong”. Well, it’s not like they destroyed the whole zone or anything, so I can always have some more xianxia jokes later on. Plus, I’m sure that other places around the planet would have similar themes lol.

      • Can’t forget Honored Grandfather Dong I really wish I could stand xanxia and wuxia so I could understand all the satire, but it’s just way too misogynistic for me and I can’t handle the artificial drama from either forced weakness or rape :/

  3. Long-we Dong was my favourite disciple. Thanks for the massive release, though I am a little sad to see no lewt but I guess that’s what happens when you break the system.

      • Yes Long-er Dong is who I meant lol. I didn’t realize the made that much gold I just seen Inari had 7k but I didn’t know if that was all from this one lootfest. The hint on your previos post about xianxia was spot on though. I read quite a few xiaxia and wuxia so this was a nice satire of them. Thanks for all the hard work 🙂

  4. At this rate of development Inari might learn to speak human language by the time hell freezes over. Actually, that might happen sooner rather than later if Chaos gets bored enough to teleport Sarah there.

      • She definitely knows how, but muscle memory is part of learning. If she bothers to speak human she’ll probably have to deal with a bit of fumbling due to stubbornly refusing to speak like people for so long, so there’s still a teency bit of learning to be had.

      • Yeah, besides that, it’s more like… She can speak telepathically, so she doesn’t bother with talking normally lol. Of course, no one except for Talia can understand her in that particular group, but that’s beside the point rofl.

      • Maybe one day… a long way away… Michael will have things calm down enough for him to do a comprehensive check of what all of his party members can do, notice the telepathy, and make everybody get it due to speaking at the speed of thought be far more useful in combat than at the speed of mouth. It’ll also save the some of mana spent on soundproof barriers, but that’s besides the point.

      • They do use telepathy a lot though. Most of the time it’s only implied, but there are a ton of ‘Whispers’ being sent back and forth. Otherwise, how the hell would they be so coordinated? lol

      • True, but I mean proper telepathy without even needing the whisper “commands”. The direct mind connection type telepathy rather than the whisper type.

      • I can’t really respond to that without giving major spoilers lol, but lets just say, Companions all have a fairly powerful telepathic connection to each-other. If I say anymore, I might reveal stuff that I haven’t even written about yet lol.(Secrets of OP-ness)

      • So, those fairly powerful telepathic connections will probably allow them to eventually exchange intentions to the point where they can act more like one extended semi-hive mind than multiple beings? I mean, if the connection is there there’s probably nothing stopping them from increasing the scope or utilizing the powerful connection more efficiently. Sending images, ideas, intentions, and memories instead of just direct “sound” is far better use of telepathy than your average conversation, and if they haven’t figured that out yet I’d say it’s rather inevitable.

I’m also guessing that you’re implying that the telepathic connection works regardless of range due to the nature of the whisper system, so it’s an OP as fuck cheat. Heck, eventually they’ll probably be able to channel their collective mana via the connection to amplify and use more powerful spells/fusion spells or at least use it to teach each-other skills or spread affinities.

I wonder how much of this is spoilers. Theorycrafting is fun though.

      • Hmmm, not really spoilers, more like… did you miss all the times when they actually did that? Like, when Michael grabbed some memories out of Talia’s mind. Or the time he gave her memories of tastes etc.

        Like

      • I’m more talking about the later stuff. The memory sharing and such they’ve already done, but expanding the link to include mana and mana manipulation, and thus indirectly skills and affinities could be done later on.

    • Mike… I really enjoy your writing but there is something bugging me that has popped up a couple times now. Your characters will notice the sun is rising and thus know that east would be that direction… which is right however you then claim that they have no way of knowing which way north or south is.
      (ends ridiculously long sentence.)
However if you’re facing east then north is on your left and south is on your right. Similarly facing west has south to your left and north to your right.
Small thing to notice, I’m sure, but it has been bugging me since I picked up immortal soul and I read that prior to this.
Anyhow thanks a million for your books and keep up the good work. 🙂

      • Well, technically, depending on where you’re at, the sun isn’t ‘exactly’ in the east or west lol. But just because ‘you’ know that North is to the left, and south is to the right, doesn’t mean that the characters do rofl. If I ever get around to editing things, that’ll be something that I change though, so thanks for pointing it out :(.
