Chapter 247: Protecting Luxiana

“Patriarch Xuan Hao, Level-33 Wood-Elf Martial Artist, Rank-D, Raid Boss,” was a two-meter tall man, with bulging muscles and sword-scars all over his face, chest and back. He left his upper-body exposed and only wore baggy black pants, with no shoes.

Those clear-blue eyes were glaring at the large white house in front of him; there was a terrified cat-girl, with golden irises, porcelain skin and silver hair, standing next to the doorway. It was impossible for him to attack her or even grab the woman, because they were within Michael’s Waterfall Sanctuary.

There was a dozen ‘Elders’ of the the ‘Xuan Hao Clan’ gathered behind the relatively huge Patriarch; several of them were seriously injured and one was even missing his left arm. Suddenly, all of them vanished and reappeared a mile to the east of that ‘Holy Mountain’, outside of the thick jungle that surrounded it.

Before they could even figure out what was happening, a loud buzzing noise sounded in their ears, and all of the old men were promptly bisected at the same time. The only one who managed to avoid the massive, bright-blue siegeblade, was the infuriated, bald-headed leader.

That Wood-Elf trembled in rage and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, roaring “Do you dare to face me, Xuan Hao, in a ‘fair’ duel?! Or are you merely a piece of trash that must resort to such despicable methods?!”

Michael stabbed the giant sword into the ground and smiled wryly; he was wearing all of his gear, so there was very little chance of the Raid Boss being able to kill him. The Nephilim snickered, “You have eyes but you didn’t recognize Mount Tai… pft~, hahaha~! Oh god, ugh, you Xianxia assholes are so fucking stupid; anyway~, I’m gonna kill you now.”

The Patriarch’s pupils dilated and his muscles began bulging, then he shouted “Shadow Dance of the Vermillion Bird!” Two pitch-black wings erupted from his back and he stomped onto the ground with his left foot, swiftly darting to the Nephilim’s right side and launching a flurry of punches.

A crystalline gauntlet-covered hand casually blocked them one after the other, and a slew of numbers appeared above the Guardian’s head: ‘-5’, ‘-1’, ‘-3’, ‘-6’, ‘-12’, ‘-2’. His Arcane Affinity reduced damage from Elites and Bosses by forty-percent; he had over two-hundred Defense Rating, the attacks were landing on armor, and then he had his Light Affinity lowering the damage by another ninety-percent. With such ridiculous protection, it was amazing that Xuan Hao was able to do anything to his opponent at all.

Michael smirked as he grabbed the Patriarch’s left wrist and squeezed so tightly, that the bones shattered and the hand was completely amputated. The horrified Martial Artist growled “I cannot believe that you were this powerful! Hmph! Now that it has come to this, I can only use my final trump card! The-ugha~?!”

Right when Xuan Hao was about to take a forbidden ‘Limit Breaking Seven Deaths Pill’ from the satchel around his waist, his tongue was literally ripped out of his mouth. Then his eyes were removed, after that, the arteries on around his neck exploded into a gory mess. Finally, his spine seemed to have erupted from his back on its own.

“Seriously, what kinda moron doesn’t even put up any kinda magical defenses while they’re fighting? Ah, well, I didn’t either, but that’s beside the point! Ugh, what a mess…” Michael telekinetically tore the mana-cores from each of those bodies, swifting sucking them into his inventory and leaving the mutilated corpses behind. After that, he walked over, grabbed the hilt of his siegeblade and Astral Leaped into the center of Luxiana.

The first thing that he saw was the broken down golems, and many of the houses were completely demolished. Even the Grand Cathedral had its huge windows shattered and the marble walls had holes in them everywhere.

There were corpses of innocent civilians, scattered across the streets, along with plenty of crimson blood. However, the majority of bodies belonged to Wood-Elves, since they were mostly fighting among themselves.

Battles were happening everywhere in the town and most Citizens were taking refuge near the waterfall, or in the jungle. Michael pulled a handful of white beads out of his bag and sacrificed three-hundred gold, but the effects were instantaneous.

All of the damage to that enormous marble cathedral vanished and the entire building seemed to grow even larger. At the top of the four steeples, there were gargantuan, ten-meter tall statues.

Those four golems each had a huge pair of marble wings on their backs, and their entire bodies were covered in silver armor. They carried mirror-like circular shields on their left hands and long broadswords in their right.

Almost immediately, they detected the conflicts that were happening below, and leaped off of their perches. As they crashed down into the ground, their feet smashed down onto the concrete and left huge indents, then they swiftly began hacking and slashing at the hostile ‘Non-Citizens’.

Michael didn’t give them any orders, because he honestly didn’t care, even if they annihilated every single Wood-Elf in the whole town. The golems repeatedly shouted “All enemies of Luxiana shall be purged!” in deep and terrifying voices, filled with massive amounts of Light aura.

The Nephilim snickered as he watched the massacre, eventually entering inside of the level-twenty Grand Cathedral. Laura, Arnold and a twenty-meter tall angelic cat-girl golem, were helplessly staring out the windows, but they obviously turned towards the entrance when those enormous silver doors opened.

“Oh hey~, I was gone for like, an hour at most, so how the fuck did things get this way?” As he casually walked forward, his wisp was hovering in the air above the town and ‘repairing’ all of the buildings. He even purchased some three-story high mansions, for fifty silver a piece, since many of the houses were already completely ruined.

All of the wooden and stone walls, including the gates, were instantly raised to rank-F and level-twenty. Their stats doubled, but the overall appearance didn’t change at all; the cost was also relatively low, since they were merely being improved and not replaced.

Unfortunately, the total price to fix everything up was over five-hundred gold. Thus, Michael was suitably irritated, so he decided to make an announcement. His voice echoed throughout his entire territory, including the Shrine of Huxian, which was two-thousand miles to the southwest.

“Listen up, you stupid motherfuckers! This ain’t a goddamn xianxia webnovel! Ya can’t come up into my towns, killing people and destroying shit for ‘face’ or ‘prestige’! If you break it, you bought it! If you don’t want me to telekinetically rip your tiny elven dicks off, I’d suggest that you cut that shit out! You can fight all you want, but not inside of my territory! Unless you’re ‘tired of living’ pft~, don’t bring your drama into Luxiana or The Shrine of Huxian! Anyone who surrenders will have to pay reparations for the damages they cause, and if you don’t, then you’ll just die and pay for your crimes with your fucking corpses!”

For the most part, the ones that were fighting each other were all under level-twenty, so they weren’t able to harm those four golems. However, the Protectors of Luxiana were incredibly slow and heavy. They were also gigantic and would avoid causing property damage as much as possible. Their main purpose was to ‘Tank’ the enemies, while the city-guards would actually attack.

Michael groaned as he spent three-hundred gold and a handful of mana-cores to purchase a battalion of soulless soldiers. One-thousand two-meter tall, grey-stone Warriors; they abruptly appeared all over the town, crawling up out of the concrete ground. They looked like genderless statues of Cat-Tribe, with no weapons, armor or clothing, and their faces were completely blank. There weren’t even eyes, yet they could certainly ‘see’ the hostiles that weren’t considered Citizens.

They were relatively ‘fragile’ compared to the giant Protectors of Luxiana, but the Stoneguard were exceptionally fast. Michael snickered as he watched three of the golems pounce on a single, level-fifteen ‘Inner Sect Disciple’. One of them grabbed the man’s ankles, another latched onto his left arm, while the final one grabbed the right. He screamed in agony as they ripped his arms out of their sockets; when the blood splashed onto their bodies, they seemed to absorb it into their rigid flesh.

Then they tore him apart, and continued to splash around in his gore until all that was left were two mana-cores. Even those were summarily devoured by one of the strange creatures; oddly enough, it actually evolved.

The stone shattered, revealing a beautiful, naked cat-girl with rippling muscles all over her three-meter tall body. Her skin was grey and her face was covered by a thick stone mask, but it was possible to see two glowing blue, crystalline eyes. There was even long brown hair falling to her waist, along with fluffy fur covering her ear and tail. The most important factor though, was that she gained a soul somehow.

  2. Wow the randomness of this chapter… Xianxia invasion out of nowhere, no reason, no explanation, no purpose except for a cameo appearance.

    • I did explain, it wasn’t out of nowhere, and there was a purpose lol. You simply weren’t paying attention :P. I explained a bit in the last chapter, and I mentioned a while ago about the Wood-Elf tourists… back when Elina was having a family reunion and several times since then. It was only a matter of time before the xianxia bastards started killing each other and causing wanton destruction in the process lol.

      • That’s what they would probably call themselves, but Michael was the one calling them Xianxia bastards lol. Because their entire culture was obviously created by humans who came from Earth and said “Xiaxia is awesome, let’s make a Xianxia land?” 😛

      • Ya’know, mentioning it for a few lines and then saying: “nu, I already facilitated it as a fact, yo be the wrongs.” is inappropriate.
I agree with the guy. This fight seems completely random and out of place. Even if these guys were already there, the escalation of violence was very severe and very abrupt, even Micheal went: “guys, I only went out for an hour. WTF?”

I don’t really care if it’s random or not, the story thus far was a series of random events, but you can’t say this particular event did not go from 5% to 100% in a single leap. Just because you “mentioned it” beforehand, does not mean the leap itself was not very fast.

      • It\s a good thing the narrative does not replicate Against the Gods.
That story paraphrases its own paraphrasing, with abundance of disgusting romance that is so up its own asshole with trying to satisfy a very stereotypically-sexist demographic (“A woman has that job! A woman is like this! A MAN protect that!”), that any time it stops having fun with its own absurdity, it goes off the deep end.

Xianxia is fun when it’s trying to have fun…Xianxia is awful when it stops and tries to think. Which is something it should never, ever do. <:

  3. A parody of a parody would have been great with the whole chapter with dialogue going back and fro… Oh and also the reactions of a nameless side characters…
    Anyways thx for the chapter

      • thanks though, really tired of background story for every characters from mangas, even though those characters only last for few chapters and wont even matter -_-

      • Yeah, they’re just trying to drag it out and create filler lol. Me on the other hand, I write some important backstory for the main characters and people complain that it’s filler roflmao.

      • I like how it turned out anyways

(i think u can always add that in another similar chapter like this one nd as for the background story of y they were attking Michael’s territory it could be for increase their influence or something {like how Michael was saying something about prestige nd all that} nd also they attked without learning how strong Michael nd his team actually is nd shit.)

        but thats my thinking anyways

        Liked by 1 person

      • Well, it was basically just a ‘minor’ incident lol. Like, loads of people died, but most of the casualties were Wood-Elves who were fighting each other for stupid reasons roflmao.

        Liked by 2 people

      • They’re the kind of people who think that they can do whatever they want, wherever they want, and get away with it because of their outrageously powerful backgrounds. Essentially, generic Xianxia bad-guys lol. Well, even the good-guys act like that though rofl. Obviously, there will probably be some ‘consequences’ later on… but it probably won’t happen in the first book at least :P.
