Chapter 276: Even Fox-Girls Need Gear

Sarah casually sucked the corpse of Lisa the Outcast into her inventory, though she just tossed the slightly burnt clothing and other nonsense to the side. Rather than littering, it was better to think of it as ‘leaving magical items for other adventurers to discover’.

The gaping hole in the back of Elina’s neck was slowly regenerated, eventually even the spinal-cord damage was repaired enough for her to channel ‘Healing Light’. Within one minute, her leg was completely regrown and even her gear seemed to recover back to its pristine condition.

She was sitting cross-legged, meditating, with a glowing battlestaff across her legs as she quietly murmured “Fighting without Michael is so much more painful and scary…” However, while she was focusing on ‘fixing’ herself, Inari and Sarah were searching for the ‘drops’.

Meanwhile, the little Death-Elf felt that her body was much heavier than it used to be, because of her increased Strength, Endurance and Vitality, so she spend all four stat-points on Agility. Of course, she was definitely still less than three pounds with all of her gear equipped.

Once she felt completely refreshed, Elina stood up and giggled at her two Companions; they were both struggling to search the vicinity for any traces of their precious ‘loot’, but neither of them possessed the ‘Scan’ spell. With a single glance, the angelic cat-girl immediately realized the problem. “Have either of you checked your inventories?”

Sarah yelled “Damn it! Why the fuck didn’t ya say that sooner?!” as she quickly removed the single item from her sixth bag-slot. After staring at the creature for a few moments, she grumbled “What the hell is this bullshit?! Ain’t it just a dead bird?”

“Spectral Raven: +7 Luck, +7 Willpower. The user is able to channel their mana into the totem, allowing it to take on a variety of forms. Can transform into a ‘Shadow Doppelganger’, which will copy the user’s current appearance. Able to become any humanoid shape that the user desires, depending on their own imagination. In ‘Dark Phoenix’ form, it is possible for the item to cast Frost and Darkness magic, based on the user’s Spellbook. Soulbound to Sarah Carelia. Epic Quality, requires level-30.”

It seemed like nothing but a taxidermied raven at first; fortunately, Elina was able to ‘Scan’ it properly and reveal all of its secrets. However, it was impossible for the little girl to ‘equip’ the ‘trinket’ yet, so she could only shove it into her inventory and complain “We need ta go find some assholes to kill! There’s probably a buncha strong bastards over in that place…”

She was pointing on the map, towards the northwestern corner of their territory. It was still within the outermost wall, but also nearly thirty-miles inside of Ariel’s Meadow.

Before the mass-migration from Raphael’s Jungle, that place would have lots of level-ten magical-beasts, but with the current state of affairs, it wouldn’t be strange to find plenty of incredibly dangerous monsters. Most creatures would obviously be ‘normal’, though Elites weren’t particularly Rare. Anything higher than a Boss, usually wouldn’t be able to survive in that sort of environment; if there were any, they would typically be far more powerful than anything else within the region.

Inari suddenly transformed into a five-foot tall, light-brown skinned, seven-tailed fox-girl. Then she removed all six, level thirty-three, rank-C, Raid Boss mana-cores from her bag and threw them into her mouth.

It took nearly a minute for her to completely consume them all, but she subsequently raised her level, six times in a row. All thirty-six of her stat-points went into Agility, reaching a ridiculous one-hundred and sixty points in total. Then she began taking her newly acquired ‘gear’ out of her inventory for Elina to ‘Scan’.

“Vestments of the Savage Druid: +30 Defense Rating, +20 Strength, +10 Agility, +10 Vitality, +10 Endurance, +10 Intelligence, +10 Wisdom. Reduces the mana-cost of Nature spells by 20%. Usable by humanoids and magical-beasts with extreme shapeshifting abilities. Soulbound to Inari. Epic Quality, requires level-30.”

The first item was essentially just a faded white, hooded-robe; from the breasts and elbows up, it seemed to be in fairly good condition, but everything below that was dyed reddish-brown from what appeared to be blood. Right underneath the waist, it was extremely frayed and torn apart, just barely covering the fox-girl’s buttocks and furry groin.

Elina muttered “Well, at least she has ‘something’ to wear now… but this is kind of, more ‘revealing’ than just walking around naked. There’s so much cleavage too… Ugh, I need to umm, go home and do some things.”

Inari barked and whimpered, running over to the angelic cat-girl and hugging her, yelling “Elly, don’t go yet!”

“I-I’m sorry but we can’t! You’re very beautiful, just far too young! Wait, what are you doing?” Right when Elina thought that the Adolescent vixen was attempting to seduce her, it turned out that she was only interested in the Oracle’s ‘Scanning’ ability.

“Guan Dao of the Jade Dragon: +540 Attack Rating, +20 Strength, +15 Agility, +10 Dexterity, +10 Charisma, +10 Vitality, +10 Endurance. Increases the wielder’s training-speed in ‘Reptilian’ shape-shifting techniques. Usable by humanoids and magical-beasts with extreme shapeshifting abilities. Soulbound to Inari. Epic Quality, requires level-30.”

In her five-foot tall humanoid form, the glaive had a bright-green staff which was similar to her height, but there was a twenty-inch long blade on one end. There was also a small, but fairly heavy, golden dragon-head, that acted as a counterweight and assisted in balancing.

The blade seemed to be made out of steel, while there was an emerald-colored image of a serpentine dragon, on both sides. It had an extremely ‘eye-catching’ golden guard, and overall, the weapon was nearly three-hundred pounds.

With both of those incredible items equipped, Inari moved a few meters away from Elina and began reverting to her ‘natural’ form. The hooded-robe was absorbed into her light-brown flesh; when she fully transformed into a tiger-sized vixen, all of the fur on the underside of her body was pure-white, while the back of her torso and head was dark-red.

As for the glaive, it dyed the ends of her seven tails golden, while the rest seemed to be made out of reflective jade needles. Yet, that was merely the ‘neutral’ state; when the fox ‘activated’ the weapon, her seven fluffy tails automatically shape-shifted into the heads of draconic serpents.

Those snakes had golden manes and bright-blue eyes, with emerald scales covering the majority of their bodies. Sarah started laughing hysterically, yelling “You just grew a hydra outta your ass! Ah~, why the hell aren’t you bastards laughing!? Fine, whatever, stop fuckin around and let’s get goin already!”

After checking her stats with all of her new gear equipped, Inari deactivated the strange ‘dragon-tails’ and growled angrily at Sarah. Then she swiftly ran in between Elina’s legs, carrying the angelic woman on her back.

The vixen ignored the itchy, moist sensation near her shoulder blades and barked at the skull-faced little girl. Without bothering to speak any actual words, Inari abruptly sprinted towards the northwest, leaving the Death-Elf behind.

  1. So will there be some type of official marriage event between Mc and his companions? Change their last names? XD…
    Thanks for the chapter

  2. When I post the chapters, sometimes wordpress screws up and smashes two paragraphs together, where there was originally a space, double-space or even a triple-space lol. So~, if you notice that, then let me know, cause it definitely didn’t look like that in the original ‘editor’ before I posted it :(.
