“Greetings young Kitsune. I am Inari Okami, the Goddess of Agriculture and Prosperity. Although I am powerful, I am not omnipotent. Thus, I must rely on you children to go out into the world and spread my blessings. However, you must first be tested in order to prove your worth as one of my successors. By the end of your trials, I hope that you will have become strong enough to continue my legacy and help guide your own offspring in the future.”

What the heck? I went to check on my house and when I came back, the intro to Inari’s Garden was written in my diary…

That’s kinda weird. It didn’t even ask me to fill anything in. Hmmm, also, why would it bother saying half that stuff? Seems a little redundant. Maybe this is the Alpha for “Inari’s Garden”? Like, the original version that Azra made. When I started testing it for him, he had already gotten to the Beta.

Ugh, it’s getting pretty cloudy now. I don’t think that I’ll be able to fully charge my tablet, especially if I’m using it in the meantime. But what else can I do without the internet or electricity? I can’t even sleep in this heat. Don’t get me wrong, I love the summer. If it was up to me, I probably would have moved to Georgia or Florida, but my parents really like Maryland for some reason.

[Starting Tutorial Program… Erecting Barrier…]

Ah! That, that’s not possible, right?! This weird magical bubble just appeared! It kind of looks more like an ‘egg’ shape than a pure dome, but still… I think I’m trapped!

[Warning: Please stay at least three meters from the Mana Barrier at all times!]

There it is again! These messages keep typing themselves out on my diary program without my permission… And I can’t even erase them! Wait, no, that’s not even weird compared to the giant semi-transparent wall in front of me!

Okay, I need to take a deep breath and calm down a bit. Maybe this is all just a dream… I’ve definitely had much stranger nightmares before. Yeah, I mean, as far as dreams go, this one isn’t so bad.

If I think of it that way, then it’s actually kind of cool. I’m just going to go back to my towel, sit down and relax while drinking the rest of my iced tea. Whatever happens, happens.

Nope, nope, nope! I have no idea how or why, but I’m floating! There’s nothing to hold onto either! Oh geez, holy crap! What?! It’s gone… The barrier got all cloudy for a moment and then after it got clear again, there was nothing. Even if I was in outer space there would be stars and stuff, but it’s completely pitch-black. Ugh, so cold… I can barely even type anymore.

“This diary program can… uh-bububuh~, re-record au-audio as well… There’s vi-video bu-but there ain’t really nothing to see… Be-besides that, it takes a lot more power to use. Oh, I’m on the ground again! Sweet! And it’s getting warmer! Yay~!”

Ew, my voice is so deep… Yuck, maybe I should just delete that? Nah, it’s not like anyone else is ever going to listen to it, so whatever. I could have used text-to-speech, but it’s kind of inaccurate. Wait a second, it’s getting hotter! Like way too freakin hot! Ah~, my eyes~, why did it get so sunny all of the sudden?

“Welcome young Kitsune, to Geb!”

What? There’s two suns in the sky! And there’s a, okay, I’m definitely taking a picture of this!

“This world was once as lush and fertile as typical Earth-Class planets… There were always two stars, but they were both rather weak and even their combined strength was barely enough to feed the hungry jungles that covered this world. In order to fuel the ever increasing desires of the plants and animals who were struggling to grow to their full potential, I decided to assist them… This is your first lesson, young Kitsune: never interfere with things you do not yet understand. I granted their wishes and improved the output of their stars, yet this is the result.”

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that I won’t be ‘improving the output of stars’ any time soon… or ever. But thanks for the warning anyway, mysterious ghost writer. Get it? Ugh, this is probably why I have no friends. I’m sorry, it’s just really hard to take anything that’s happening right now seriously.

“Remember this well Child! Never look down upon lesser beings and lower lifeforms! Even the most insignificant creatures are still worthy of respect, as long as they do not intend to bring harm upon you or those you care for. Of course, there are always exceptions, but it is a general rule that has worked fairly well for me so far.”

      • Since the chapter are based on content and not a specific length… Well, the first chapter was 11 parts, chapter 2 was like 12 pars and chapter 3 is 17 parts so far. I want chapter 3 to have a conclusive ending, so I can’t just like… End it prematurely, because it wouldn’t make sense? Anyway, the point is that I’m definitely writing a lot every day lately, which is why my posting rate is down lol.
