OP-ness Returns, Chapter 9: Talia’s Gear and Stats

“Wait a second… I just noticed something. If all the pieces of gear have set amounts, then why do the pieces that cover multiple areas only count as one? Doesn’t that make them kinda shitty in comparison?” Michael asked himself a question, which was actually ‘answered’ by the System.

[Humanoids can Equip a limited number of Soulbound Items. Due to the nature of Soulbound Equipment, if a Humanoid has more than one head, a singular Soulbound helmet can be used on both. This also limits the amount of power amplification the Humanoid body is forced to endure.]

[The exact limits are: 2 Accessories, 12 Armor Pieces, and 3 Weapon Slots. Two-Handed weapons such as bows and most polearms are counted as two Weapon Slots.]

Another benefit was the cost of ‘upgrading’ and ‘leveling’ Equipment. The more a person had, the more money and time they needed to spend on everything.

“Interesante… It appears that my items are significantly more powerful than before.” Talia received the biggest upgrade out of everyone, since all of her Soulbound Gear was over level 20 and with the exception of one piece, everything else was Epic.

She also had two separate ‘Sets’, which each provided a decent amount of Stats. Something of particular note, is that she was the only person with Artifacts that were not stored in her Inventory or within their Sealed territories.

[Talia’s Artifacts

Intermediate Ironwood Arrows: +96 Attack Rating, 2500/2500 Durability. Created by Talia Aeris Ramirez. Epic Quality, requires level 32. Quantity: 3527.

Orchid Pendant: While ‘activated’, the wearer becomes impossible to ‘Identify’ by anyone below level-30. Rare Quality, requires level-30.]

It is important to note that those Intermediate Ironwood Arrows, like most consumable projectiles, didn’t provide a Stat boost of any kind. The Attack Rating would only influence the damage of the attacks made with the ammunition. Durability was something that almost all Artifacts possessed, it just wasn’t displayed until after the ‘Patch’. Durability is essentially a Health Pool for various Items.

Stamina doesn’t have its own dedicated ‘Regen’ section, because aside from Spells and Passives, the only way to regain it was through eating and sleeping. Otherwise, no matter how powerful the being, they would eventually burn themselves out. Running out of Stamina wouldn’t lead to instant death, but it would be the point where a living being would lose consciousness against their will. Passing out or fainting is deadly during combat, but it was rare to run out of Stamina, so it’s not something that gets mentioned often. Regardless, that’s the reason why Michael, Talia, Sarah and Inari all had empty Stamina bars when they first Equipped their Gear again.
