Synopsis

Most people pray for good health, a loving family, and to win the lottery.  I asked “Can you send me to a game-like fantasy-style world?  It can’t be too unrealistic, but also, it would be nice if I was immortal to some degree.  Oh yea, no rape or slavery either, ’cause then I’ll have to spend the whole time trying to build a perfect society, and I’d rather not have to deal with all that nonsense.  No other players, ’cause that always creates a ton of annoying drama; I just want to have a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable time.”

Three years later, after I had completely forgotten about all that… well, better late than never I suppose.  The moral of this story, is to be careful what you wish for; also, cuteness is justice, so don’t complain if adorable bunnies beat you to death and devour your corpse.

  1. I’m only on 55 but I like it enough to stop reading some of the other novels i was catching up on and focus solely on this one at least a 8/10, you don’t need plot if you have good characters Durrarra is like that as well somewhat.

  7. 2 days and im completely caught up from beginning to current chapter 😀 which leaves me wondering; if it goes up to 196 then the chapter list might be missing a few 😛

    its a really good story and if the gore, swearing and soft h doesnt bother you then its pretty funny

    • I’ve never advertised on facebook or amazon lol. Also, these are questions you should ask google, because I made the site like 6+ months ago, and I only remember things that happened this month. Lmao, and even then, my memory is sketchy :P. It’s a side-effect of writing so fucking much… Seriously, I’ve written 185 chapters in 3 months. Practically 280,000 words… that’s like, 560+ pages. 93k words a month… It’s a lot, a lot of things have happened, I’ve also read a shit ton of things recently… Basically, my brain doesn’t have enough capacity to keep lugging around all of that pointless info, so I forget things(A lot) lol.

    • Well, I got a bunch of readers when I ‘advertised’ on RRL(I basically just posted a handful of chapters and then said “Everything else is here~!” lol)

      Then, I got a shit ton when Aho Updates decided to add me to their list of original stories or whatever. Almost immediately after that, someone posted links to my site on here https://www.reddit.com/r/noveltranslations/

      That’s about it though. I have around 3-4k visitors on average. 20-30k views on average.

      As far as the donation button is concerned… Google it cause I can’t remember roflmao. If I wanted to explain it to you, I’d have to goggle it first anyway lol.

  24. I’ve been reading Hardcore OP-NESS for a couple days now and just realized this is the same guy that writes Immortal Soul. I fucking love this guy! Immortal Soul was the story that got me into reading online novels. I didn’t think I’d enjoy an unpublished story, but I ended up loving the very first one I read. Thanks Mike!

    • I haven’t been reading Arifureta since they returned the little girl to her mother, sorry? It’s not that I stopped reading because I didn’t like it, but just that Japtem was taking forever to translate it, and I just lost interest/had other things to do. Hell, I haven’t even finished reading Ark yet, because I’ve been spending so much time writing or reading other stories….

      • I like deathmarch for the same reason I like yours it’s mindless fun, plus I like how the deathmarch hero is becoming an omni-creator/builder. Like i think if I was in the hard core OP world myself, I’d have tons of maxed crafting, but I guess your world is more of a traditional MMORPG, where on deathmarch he broke the XP cap day one.

      • It wasn’t that bad for like 3-10 chapters, and then the MC started showing how much of a cunt-whore he is lol. I stopped reading before it started getting too horrible, but even in the beginning, I hated the MC with a passion. From what I heard, he ends up buying slaves, going to a brother for no apparent reason, an generally being a total pussy-bitch with no sense of morality at all. Hell, the moment that he entered the town and the guard was like “Oh hey, if you’re a vagrant, we’re gonna enslave you.” and he was like “Oh, that’s cool, I don’t care about anyone or anything and think that slavery is fine, whatever.” That’s when I said “FUCK YOU SHITTY BITCH!” and stopped reading lol.

      • Yeah, that’s a list of novels that I haven’t read, nor will I ever read lol. I did watch the anime for SAO and a couple of the others though. HS DxD is basically just a lot of fanservice, and couldn’t hold my interest… It’s kinda like hentai with the best parts taken out lol.

    • Are you asking whether I’m a writer or translator? lol Anyway, yeah, I’m basically just making it up as I go? I mean, unlike Immortal Soul, there isn’t any kind of intricate and complicated plot-line lol. Maybe there will be eventually, but at the moment, the MC is just ‘playing’ the ‘game.’ I guess the best way to put it, is that he’s basically just doing side-quests and fucking around for the moment. His level is kinda low for him to receive any crazy quests like “An ancient titan has awakened and is threatening to destroy the world, go kill it. You have five years to prepare; good fucking luck.” 😛

      • Well, yeah, I’ve been writing Immortal Soul for almost a year now, and it’s a pretty fucking serious story… so I needed a break lol. Plus, it seems like all these stories I’ve read about ‘Transportation’ or ‘Reincarnation’ into a fantasy-world always end up pissing me off for one reason or another lol. Thus, I decided to write a ‘carefree’ story about an um ‘normal’ guy who gets sent to a different world… okay, maybe he isn’t normal roflmao, but still: who gets transported into an alternate reality with magic, and game-like elements, but doesn’t wanna have fun? Well, I guess most people would be upset by the whole ‘dying horrible painful deaths’ thing, but I don’t think that I would be afraid of dying as long as I knew that I wasn’t losing anything in the process? Plus, living is way more painful and horrible than dying, lol.

      • I’m gonna be updating HCOP 2 chapters every day for a while, at least until I can start pulling ahead on the writing side of things a bit more. Like, if I make it past a 30 chapter lead, then I’ll post the extra chapter? Otherwise, I’m afraid of getting into a situation where I catch up to where I’m writing and… well, aside from the fact that I make a lot of mistakes and don’t wanna have to go back and fix them after I already posted it, there’s a lot less pressure on me when I have such a huge stash of already written chapters.

  46. Whats the usual time you post chapters? I spent all night reading them. This is one dam good story. I love how you made the MC. He is OP but only compared to average hunters and not the OP nobody is my equal. There are still TONS of enemies that can and will kill him o kinda refreshing even if he is immortal. I cant wait to see how this goes later.
    Rofl. So funny how a lvl-7 G rank Priest has key to a super dungeon by herself. I thought she was the smart one in the group. She need some INT stats.

    This Mc is unique and you just cant stop laughing at the funny ideas he comes up with like getting goblin to go up treant a*s to kill it. Only other author I know who can have an MC do an unordothox method is Warhawk of Insania. I wonder what would happen if you two team up to make a story. that would be quite interesting XD

    CUTENESS IS JUSTICE!!! I find it pretty funny how Inari eats so much but only gets The Feeder title. I thought she would have been called glutonous or something. the way you are evolving her is interesting. Though I wonder if she will be able to eat fire/chaos mana crystals since it counters nature and can burn her.

    The funniest thing in this story is how you got MC throwing a rubber ball at lions/tigers and other animals but make it a super assassin weapon cuz of arcane attribute. Arcane is so OP once he gets his affinity higher. He can kill anything with no trace. Doesnt that mean he can kill someone by poking them while infusing his finger with arcane magic.
    ONE FINGER DEATH PUNCH XD

    I wonder what would happen if MC made inari eat all 9 elements. There has to be a way since they are fragments of the original magic. There probably is but just none survived the process. Though Inari can cheat thx to being semu-immortal.

    • Lmfao thanks 😛 Hmm, I don’t post at any specific times lol. He starts to get OP-ish as the story progresses? Well, more like, he starts getting gear and stops running around naked all the time, throwing rocks at elites roflmao… 1v1 a Player is typically stronger than a regular trash mob, assuming that both sides have gear, or aren’t completely terrible lol Elites are usually much stronger and have much better gear than the average person. Hmmm, well, even if he gets amazing gear, it’s not like humanoid enemies can’t do the same thing lol, but the most important thing is that he can’t get exp from killing ppl more than 5 lvls lower than him, so he kinda has to keep fighting enemies that can potentially kill him to get stronger. That’s why it’s Hardcore, and not just called OP-ness lol.

      I’ve never read a story where the MC is a chronic masturbator or dies a few times a day, so I figured, eh, why not lol. Idk who Warhawk of Insania is and I’ve never teamed up with anyone to make a story before :P.

      Cutness is Justice! Also, the Feeder title has nothing to do with eating… Haven’t you ever played a MOABA like League of Legends, Smite, ect? Feeding is when you keep dying really easily and making the enemy team stronger rofl. Fire doesn’t counter Nature btw, at least not in this story.

      Yeah, Arcane is awesome, but it counts as Magic Damage, and obviously, some people will have really high magic-resist spells, gear, or passives. Basically, it’s amazing at low levels and against noobs, but later-on, there are a lot of assholes that it might not even affect lol. Idk if you’ve ever played an MMO before, but usually, in the early game, having like 1 or two Rares is super-overpowered, but then, at the end, you need full Epics or you won’t even be able to participate in Raids lol.

      I haven’t decided if I want Inari to go full Nature, or have a combination of seven Affinities. Well, I guess it would be fine if she went full-blown glass-cannon and got a bunch of huge damage buffs but major weaknesses? lol

      Also, I might release a handful today, it depends… I’m writing chapter 73 atm and I have a bunch of shit that needs to happen in the next few chapters, so I might not have enough time to edit/post 5 chapters lol.

    • Lmao, I randomly started writing it yesterday, and now have like 7 chapters…. they’re short as hell though. Like, most of the chapters will be 1500 words, the longest so far was only 2000, so it really doesn’t take long to write the chapters. However, the reason why it’s so easy to write the story… is because there’s no real plot, no annoying drama, no tragedy, no deep character building roflmao. It’s so half-assed, but surprisingly fun to write. Obviously it’s mostly comedy… but I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t find it funny, because my sense of humor is pretty warped lol. The reason I started writing it, was my slight case of writers block regarding chapter 11 of IS, so rather than just procrastinating while reading other stories, i decided to procrastinate while writing one rofl.

      Sigh, I’ve been awake for too long…anyway, at the current writing speed, I might be able to finish up to chapter 11 or so tomorrow. When my writing speed starts to slow down, then I’ll go back and edit/post the story lol.

      • LOL, yeah I can tell from just reading the synopsis that it was going to be like that. IMO your comedy is enjoyable I don’t believe it has ever caused me to loudly burst out laughing, but i’m certain that it puts a smile on my face along with some chuckling. It’s awesome to know the new chapters will be posted relatively soon! I’ve been kinda stalking for updates as of late, lol…

Sorry for taking so long tho lol, it’s just that, imo, 4 chapters of HcOP would be equivilent to a medium length chapter of IS lol and from what I can tell so far, if I post the 7 chapters I have, ppl will complain that it wasn’t enough, and then I’ll feel pressured to write faster? Anyway, time to get back to writing lol
