Author’s Note: So yeah… I’ve been posting unedited chapters of Solo Dual Cultivation lately, but this time I randomly decided to edit and post a chapter of TDoE. I feel like… I don’t even remember that long ago. Was it 2 years when I wrote this chapter? I have no clue. There are so many stories that I’ve written over the past few years, and so many that I need to get back to writing… Yet I’m kinda tethered down with Immortal Soul. So every time I start writing something else, sooner or later, I gotta stop what I’m doing and get back to ‘work’ lmao. Continue reading

TDoE V3 Chapter 3: Paranoia
It was the middle of the day, but there were still plenty of other drunkards wandering about and making noise. A block away, there were two Adepts dueling to the death. On our way back to the ship, we passed by at least three or four hardcore brawls. Honestly, under the circumstances, Mei’s little outburst shouldn’t have even drawn any attention. Continue reading
TDoE V3 Prologue: Sacrifice
No matter who we are, there will always be things that we’re forced to do. Where was the line? What separated tedious tasks from slave labor? Who decides what’s right or wrong? If someone consents to having sex, even if they hate it and really don’t want to, then would that be considered ‘rape’? Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 15: G. G. Azrael
“You, you’re Azrael! Motherfucking Gun-God Azrael! G. G. Azrael! Holy shit! I thought you died… Oh wait, I guess you did, hahaha~!” I finally realized why he seemed so damn familiar. He was basically one of my best friends online in my previous life. We played ‘Technoevo World Online’ together all the time, but then he suddenly disappeared one day and I never heard from him again. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 14: Azra
“They may be useless right now, but that’s only temporary… Ugh, it’s just that I hate Enchanting and Inscription. Even though I have all these amazing designs in my head, I can’t actually do anything with them! It’s so frustrating!” Cultivation of the physical body was tedious enough on its own. Needing to study and practice two incredibly complicated Professions, while also finding time to make a fuckton of guns… Honestly, that kid was pretty damn impressive. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 13: The Divine Armory
Until that moment, I truly hadn’t realized how crazy the world really was. At first I was with Di, then I went to a ‘peaceful’ underwater palace where everyone seemed pretty nice. I had treated that situation with the random psychos in the woods as some isolated incident that probably didn’t happen very often. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 12: Fortuitous Encounters
Don’t you just love it when crazy old people decide to give you stuff for free? Well, I definitely do… Unless that was a euphemism, then I don’t really know how to feel about that question. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 11: Shopping
“Rank-F3 Demonic Thunder-Fish Oil: 35 CP.” An ointment that could treat electrical burns for Apprentices. It was also used in various Cultivation Methods that involved tempering a person’s flesh with lightning. There were only three-ounces in the tiny spray-bottle. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 10: Above the Water
The ‘Blooming Orchid’ Secret Technique that Di had wanted to teach me required me to have a Dryadic or Treant Bloodline. Hua Mei had her ‘Vicious Maw’ ability, which could only be practiced by people who were related to sharks. However, since most Humans on Genesis didn’t have any special Bloodlines, obviously the majority of Secret Techniques were designed for ‘normals’. Continue reading
TDoE V2 Chapter 9: Intro to Druidry
Normal books did exist and there were even weird holographic projectors, but the main advantage of those fancy jade slips was the temporal dilation. Of course, there wasn’t actually any alteration of time itself. My brain was simply working way faster than normal and the information within was able to be imprinted into my mind more efficiently. Unfortunately, it wasn’t some instantaneous thing. It was more like being able to read, watch or hear a recording thousands of times faster than normal. Continue reading
