Kresvalia Continent, The Cursed Words

I casually doodled a general outline of the Continent of Kresvalia… Yes, it does look similar to Australia. Yes, it is located in a similar corner of the ‘Earth’ as Australia. But obviously it’s not really Australia. Most of the story thus far takes place in the tiny eastern corner of the continent, so there’s no real reason to go into great detail about everywhere else. Honestly, this is the first time in a long time that I drew up one of my half-assed maps… But a map really doesn’t need to be so fancy, right?

The Cursed Words, V1, Chapter 13: The Deal

“Ah! Shit! How the hell did you escape?!”

Oliver opened his eyes to that angry face again in the morning, with a marble finger tip almost touching the back of that bald gray head…

“Wait, I’m definitely not hallucinating! You’re not bald anymore!”

The Cursed Words, V1, Chapter 11: Stone Sister

Even though they said they didn’t want to get paid, Oliver still forced each of the kids to pick their favorite sculpture and gave it to them as a gift. Whether they kept it in their house as a collection or sold it to Verna’s parents later was up to them. Though it’s more likely that their parents would decide on those kinds of financial decisions involving dozens to hundreds of gold coins.

“Phew~! Good morning, Stone Sister~! Morning Marble Mother!”

The Cursed Words, V1, Chapter 7: College

“Orna, good morning!”

“Morning, Ollie! Do you want me to help you with your homework again?”

“Uh, no, I don’t go to school anymore. It’s pointless…” The boy saw the little girl getting upset so he quickly waved his hands, “Well, pointless for me. It makes total sense for you! Ah, by the way… That’s what I wanted to talk to you about.”

The Cursed Words, Volume 1, Chapter 4: Klein the Plague Doctor

Inside the house with the angry woman sculpture, there were quite a few other statues. Mostly animals like wolves, lions and eagles. None of them were life-sized, but more than one was actually made out of green jade. Oliver recognized it as one of the more valuable gemstones that could be found in the mines. Of course, there were also very stark differences in value depending on the appearance and quality of the jade.

“This has to be worth a fortune, right?!”

The Cursed Words, Volume 1, Chapter 3: Oliver the Miner

*Ding~! Ding~! Ding~! Ding~!*

The dark tunnel was filled with the clanging of metal and stone. A short boy, barely a teenager, was alone in the darkness. He wore a dark-gray steel hard hat, with a big, bright flashlight on the front. His mouth and nose were covered by a simple gas mask, while his green eyes were protected by dusty goggles.

The Cursed Words, Volume 1, Chapter 2: Childish Dreams

“It’s not impossible but…” Greenstone shook his head and sighed, “Just too difficult.”

“Oliver’s Great Grandfather did it!” Orna retorted angrily.

“Mister Kale was an amazing man… But do you know how he became a ‘Miner’?”

“Umm… He was really good at mining?”

“Yes. He was very good! The best! He started mining when he was five! He spent his entire childhood and adolescence in the mines! He got married in the mines! His wife gave birth in the mines! He lived every day of his life until he died in the mines! He was only twenty five years old! *Cough-cough-cough~!*”

The Cursed Words, Volume 1, Chapter 1: In the Beginning, the Earth was Flat

“In the beginning, the Earth was Flat.”

An old man was sitting in front of a few little kids and pointing to a piece of paper on the ground. There was a circle with the word ‘Flat Earth’ written on it.

“Grandpa, if the Earth was Flat, then what about the Sun and Moon?”

“They were also Flat.”
