TDoE V3, Chapter 26

The emerald-eyed ‘girl’ explained “Mortal Omega-Ranked Items are equivalent to Immortal Alpha-Ranked Items in quality.  However, they’re much more difficult to create.  Oh, umm, my name is Jade by the way, hehe~, but well, since we’re both named Jade, it’s kinda confusing huh?”

“Just call her Jasmine and call me Scarlet.  Although I typically use feminine pronouns to describe ‘her’, neither of us were created with genders or sexual organs… Actually, neither of us have any organs, because we’re inorganic life-forms in the first place!”

I sighed dramatically, as I walked around in that cramped little room and asked “Why is it so small?  Shouldn’t something equivalent to an Immortal Rank-A Item be more… ‘grand’?”

Jasmine giggled, still holding onto my flaccid penis with her right hand, and said “You’re silly~… Oh wait, are you serious?  Ah, I see, you’re brain hasn’t fully developed yet…”

Scarlet retorted “He’s one of ‘those’ things!  You know what I mean… The umm, the smaller ones!  You know, you know right?”

“Oh, oh~!  I gotcha, he’s a default model human that hasn’t been properly programmed yet, huh?”

As I was listening to the two of them arguing with each other, I couldn’t help but wonder “What the actual fuck is wrong with these idiots?  Are they Elementals?  If so, then how ancient would they need to be… and yet their minds are so ‘childish’?  Maybe they’re trying to trick me?  Is this all some elaborate illusion, no, for that matter, I might have passed out after the battle and this could all just be a dream…”

Ruby-Face snickered, telling me “It’s not a dream.  Everything that’s happening is real.  You’re currently within the Lunar Cube.  Although the space within the Lunar Cube isn’t particularly large, the exterior is incredibly durable, the interior has plenty of elementally-neutral mana-rich air and… No, I guess that’s pretty much everything…”

“Silly Scarlet, you totally forgot about the most important part!  Since he’s one of those unprogrammed humans, he doesn’t even know the significance of Omega-Ranked Items.  This might be hard for your tiny organic brainbox to comprehend, but you can place Mortal Extradimensional Storage Devices within Immortal Extradimensional Storage Devices!  Right now, we’re inside the Lunar Cube, which is inside the Lunar Sphere, which is inside the Lunar Supervolcano, which is erupting right now!  Oh, the Lunar Supervolcano isn’t an Extradimensional Storage Device though, hehehe~…”

Yeah, that’s right, we were apparently inside of an erupting supervolcano and the two of them didn’t seem even slightly concerned about that.  I sighed dramatically and asked “Have you guys experienced many eruptions like this?  Will we be safe in here?”

They both laughed at me, then Jasmine proudly bragged “Hmph~, even if this entire planet exploded, we would still be fine!”

However, Scarlet quickly complained “No we wouldn’t!  We’re only a Peak-Level, Alpha-Rank Elemental!  If the planet exploded, we might be able to survive for a while but… If this Lunar Cube wasn’t able to supply us with enough mana, we would eventually shut down and start to deteriorate!  Ah~?!  Wait, wait, no, this is really bad!  This is super-ultra-omega bad!”

“Huh?  Huh!  Oh yeah, you’re totally right!  The Lunar Sphere is only a Rank-G Immortal Item!  It might not even be able to survive an explosion of that magnitude!  If an Immortal Extradimensional Space collapses while we’re inside of it… No, we wouldn’t necessarily die, exactly, but, but!”

I yelled “Okay, enough, just tell me what to do!  We don’t have time for the two of you to explain how everything works!  You said it’s erupting, but how long until it ‘actually’ erupts?!”

Jasmine mechanically answered “Approximately five hours and thirty-nine minutes, two-seconds.. One second, thirty-eight minutes and fifty-eight seconds-”

“Stop, I get the point!  We actually have a decent amount of time… Oh wait, no we don’t!  We’re still on the mountain, or inside of it and I have no idea how to get out of here!”  Of course, the moment that I wanted to leave, I was suddenly within a different room.

In front of my face was a floating silver cube, which was about the same size as a normal six-sided die.  My clothes, bags and belts were all laying by my feet, so I quickly put everything on.  Only then did I have the presence of mind to scan my surroundings.  Although they called it a ‘Lunar Sphere’, it looked more like a two-hundred square-foot room.  The ceiling and walls seemed to be glass, while the floor was made out of a dark-blue material.  It was empty though; no awesome treasures or magical items.  Outside of the transparent dome, I could see what looked like a generic dreary cavern, with fuck-loads of Yin Qi swirling around.

Then I realized that on the floor was a gigantic hexagram and even those symbols were there.  On the spot that was previously empty, there was a green serpent slithering around in the shape of a horizontal eight.

“Ugh, can you guys hear me in there?  Is it possible for me to take this Immortal thingy with me, or is there some kinda rule against that?” I touched the floating cube to test out a theory, but the thing wouldn’t move from its position above the dark-blue Crescent Moon.  It was basically locked in place.

Scarlet muttered “Yeah, well, maybe?  You had the key, so you should be able to use the chain once you get outside… Just think about leaving and it should happen-oh, yeah, like that.” I was already freezing and suffocating the moment that I teleported outside of that comfortable room.

I took the silver chain off of my neck and looked up at the ‘Lunar Sphere’.  It was only about the size of a marble, with most of it being air.  The outside was entirely transparent, while a coin-like object was sitting in the dead-center: dividing the orb in two halves.

On one side, it was totally empty aside from the cube, but the other… “Seriously?  Ugh, oh well, it’s not like I’d be able to use any of that stuff right now anyway… probably.”  Yeah, there was a literal treasure trove on the other side.  It wasn’t totally covered in chests and bags, but there was enough of them for me to feel a little overwhelmed.  I mean, it’s not like I ‘earned’ any of that stuff.  It didn’t belong to me; none of it did.  Greed has never really been one of my vices.  At least not that kind of ‘greed’.

As I was attaching the ends of the necklace chain to the sides of the silver coin, Jasmine giggled.  Then Scarlet chuckled and told me “Luna obviously left that stuff here for a reason… Well, there are actually a few reasons.  If she dies and reincarnates on this planet, those things would make her new life a lot easier.  However, the chances of that happening are practically nonexistent.  So it’s obviously the other reason!”

A few minutes passed while I was looking around me in search for some kind of tunnel or emergency exit.  Then he continued “Oh yeah, I didn’t say a second reason yet!  Hmmm~, you need to impress us… By shooting people and blowing stuff up!”

“That’s stupid!  I wanna see romance and comedy~!” That angry high-pitched voice was giving me a headache.

“Ew, no, don’t be a loser!  Anyone can do that!  But fighting, that actually takes skill!” Although, the deep and masculine one wasn’t much better.

“Boring~… What’s fun about watching a bunch of dumb organics eviscerate each other?  Oh, I know!  I just had a super-awesome idea!”  No, I’m pretty sure that I was just suffering from hypoxia.

Scarlet suddenly shouted especially loud, in order to grab my attention.  “Yeah, Little Human Male!  You should definitely give us some living organics to play with!  Well, if they’re dead, that’s fine too… Luna never let us play with anybody… She just gave us a bunch of books and stuff.”

Then Jasmine demanded “I want an organic with fur!  Like, one of those anthropomorphic tigers that Lulu used to eat!”

Honestly, it was weird hearing someone with such a deep voice, acting so ridiculously childish.  I’m not sure why though?  “Ah, but it might be more fun if they were soft and squishy like the ones in our historical documentaries… Umm, I think they were called ‘Nekomimi’.  They looked like normal humans, but with feline ears and tails.”

However, after the two of them finally gave me a chance to speak again, I asked “Maybe instead of worrying about something so inconsequential, at least one of you should at least attempt to give me some guidance in order to escape from this confusing cave-system?  You can see those three tunnels, right?  Do you have a map or anything like that?  Which way should I go?”
