The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 13

Chapter 13:

My dreams were… Usually pretty strange. Or maybe it’s normal to me, because I’m used to their unhinged nature. I rarely remember them clearly, but sometimes I remember dreams as if they’re actual real-life events that I experienced. Those are always the most disturbing. Because they stay with you for the rest of your life.

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 12: Princess

Chapter 12: Princess

I might be playing with fire, but I’m a dragon so who gives a fuck? I spent my whole human life living way too safely and look how that turned out? All I got out of it was anxiety, depression and regret. Sure, I wrote a few hundred books, but what did that do for me in the end?

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 10: Witch

Chapter 10: Witch

“Hungry little fella, ain’t ya? Hehehe~!” The old witch cackled as she fed the cute black cat some preserved meat and fish from a glass jar. Then she looked over at me with her cataract-covered eyes, “How’s the stew, Sweetie? To your liking?”

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Realistically, if I stayed with the caravan, I might have gotten noticed by the guards or anyone really. It was dangerous. It was the smart move to fly away and leave them alone. Maybe I’ll see them again someday… Maybe not. Who knows?

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 8: A City

Chapter 8: A City

“It always amazes me when I see this shit.” The scar-faced new ‘boss’ of the caravan was holding a coffee mug and sipping some plain water occasionally. He looked up past the huge line of carriages, wagons and gathered masses. There was a huge wall, at least a hundred meters high and stretching as far as I could see to the north and south. The wall was made of stone, with some huge guard towers that reached up even higher than the wall itself. It looked really old and weathered though. There were lots of places that were covered with green vines, moss, et cetera. A few areas had actually collapsed partially, though it was rare. Most of the ancient wall was still intact.

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 7: Humans

Chapter 7: Humans

“Papa, please, hang on! Please!” A little girl was crying over her unconscious father’s body. The man was skeletal, his body basically withered away. What disease he had, I have no clue. It reminded me of my own father though… Diabetes doesn’t always make you obese. Sometimes it makes you waste away like a fucking mummy. Hopefully it’s not something dragons can get.

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 6: Searching for ‘People’

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Chapter 6: Searching for ‘People’

I think I might actually pick up cartography. It’s a little difficult without paper and a pen but maybe if I ever find civilization, I’ll figure something out. But being a dragon does have a lot of benefits. I always did have a pretty good sense of direction, well not direction but directions. Actually I wasn’t very good at directions either. But I was good at knowing where I am and figuring out how to get to other places. When you have a bird’s-eye view, for a dragon’s eye view at least, it becomes much easier to make a map.

Fortunately my lizard brain is pretty good at remembering things. I still remember what those three mountains look like and I also remember the forest I passed over to reach this grassy plain. I’ve seen some wild horses and buffalo already. Makes me wonder if I’m in America, specifically the wild West or maybe the Midwest but like in the wild west era.

The Dragon I’ve Become, Chapter 5: Future Plans

Chapter 5: Future Plans

Blue whales are born weighing 5 to 6k pounds and measuring up to 23 feet long. In the first year of their lives, they’ll grow about 10 pounds per hour or 250 pounds per day. Reaching about 60 feet long and well over 20 tons. Which is fucking insane to think about.

Dragons, or at least my particular brand of awesome black dragon, isn’t quite so dramatic or ridiculous. No wait, maybe it is? I’ve always been kinda bad at math. All I know is that I’m probably about three months old now. My growth speed has slowed down, kinda, since I’m ‘only’ a foot long now. But it does mean that I’ve gotten like four times longer since I was born, hatched, whatever.
