PS V2, Prologue 3: More Cards

*Author’s Note*

I kinda-sorta got distracted again. Do you ever just accidentally start writing a novel? Well, I did that, and then I almost missed an Immortal Soul deadline and then I started binge watching some shows… And binge reading again. Yeah, I have problems, but don’t we all? I might edit and post some chapters of the new story I’m working on, if anyone is interested in that. It’s called “Apocalypse Shop”. Aside from that, for those of you who have access to my Google Drive, most of the unedited chapters of Private Server v2 are in there now.

Hopefully I’ll get an Epic from this next pack, but the odds are pretty low. At least I think they’re low? I guess now that I really think of it, I’ve gotten a few of them from packs already. This time I’ll start from the other side, so I’ll get to see the Rarest cards first.

[Item: Arcane Waypoint
Type: Consumable
Rarity: Rare
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Inscribes an Arcane Waypoint upon the targeted area, using Arcane Mana Crystals, Mithril and Enchanted Gold. The size of the circular gateway can be determined by the Summoner, though it cannot exceed 10 meters. Every 2 meters of diameter will cost 1 Mana point to activate. However, Summoned Creatures that can utilize Mana can also open it using their own power. Only the Summoner and their Creatures can activate the portal, but once it is opened, anyone and anything can easily pass through within the 5 minutes before it closes. Up to 10 Arcane Waypoints can be connected to each other. Allowing the option to choose from 9 possible destinations when they are all available.]

Holy shit, that’s actually really awesome. Even if it isn’t an Epic, it’s still pretty damn impressive. If I had some of these set up back before the chaos started, I could’ve saved my whole family… Well, maybe I still can, as long as they can stay alive for a few more years or however long it takes.

[Highly unlikely. In order for you to bypass the Admins and Moderators, I estimate that you will need to be at least Rank-C… I am uncertain whether you would even be able to reach that far, even if you had a thousand years.]

Okay, thanks for totally destroying any shred of hope I had left. Really nice.

[You are welcome Matthew.]

Ugh, anyway, back to my cards…

[Spell: Pick a Card, Any Card
Type: Supportive
Rarity: Uncommon
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Allows the Summoner to pick any card in their deck or graveyard and return it to their hand. If it costs less than 8 Mana, then they can immediately play it.]

[Spell: Pick a Card, Any Card

Rarity: Uncommon

I didn’t make a mistake. I actually got two of the same card in a row. Never had that happen before now.

[It is rather uncommon.]

Alright Providence, your puns are unnecessary.

[It was not intentional, though I do find your repulsion to comical wordplay rather entertaining.]

I don’t hate wordplay. Alright, let me finish this.

[Item: Basic Mana-Electricity Converter
Type: Tool
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Summons a magical device that can transform Mana directly into electrical energy, or electrical energy into Mana. However, the efficiency is rather low. 10,000 Watts can be transformed into 1 Mana point over 1 hour. While 1 Mana point can be transformed into 7,000 Watts over 1 hour. The Mana generated will be turned directly into Arcane Copper Coins. Thus, this device can also be used as a Coin converter, to transform Mana points, directly into Arcane Copper Coins.]

In other words, I could use this thing to generate electricity for a house or to get extra Mana by turning electricity directly into Mana… Kinda amazing for a Common card.

[The cost is extremely high. If it was Rare, the same card could cost only 5 or 6 Mana.]

It’s still pretty awesome though. Anyway, the rest of these cards are basically just copies of lower cost cards with slightly better effects.

[Item: Arcane Copper Coins
Type: Consumables
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Summons 8 to 24 magical copper coins from the planet Arcana. 100 copper coins are equivalent in value to 1 silver coin on the planet Arcana. Made from pure Arcane Mana and able to be transformed back into Mana again. Each Arcane Copper Coin can be converted into 1 Mana. These coins are often used as currency and also fuel to power magical artifacts.]

[Item: Arcane Powder
Type: Consumables
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Summons 8 to 24 grams of solidified and granulated Arcane Mana. This is a very potent hallucinogen, but also allows a person to more easily reach the state of Arcane Enlightenment. When in the state of Arcane Enlightenment, Mana regeneration will increase by 1000%. Unfortunately, there are also many harmful side effects. However, 1 gram of Arcane Powder can also be sacrificed for 1 Mana by the Summoner. It can also be used as a very effective medicine to cure Mana Deprivation Sickness. A severe consequence of overusing Mana, which many Mages and Sorcerers suffer from.]

[Spell: Lesser Arcane Resurrection
Type: Supportive
Rarity: Trash
Mana Cost: 8
Description: The Summoner can choose any Creature card in the graveyard and return it to their hand. If the card costs less than 7 Mana, then they can play it immediately for free. If they can’t play it immediately or decide not to play the card immediately, then they can choose a second Creature card from the graveyard to return to their deck.]

[Spell: Lesser Arcane Empowerment
Type: Supportive
Rarity: Trash
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Summons 6 dice, each with six sides and numbered from 1 to 6. The Summoner casts all dice at the same time and receives Mana, equivalent to the combined numbers of all dice.]

[Spell: Arcane Roulette
Type: Passive
Rarity: Trash
Mana Cost: 8
Description: Summons a magical roulette wheel with 7 possible outcomes. 5% chance of the Summoner dying. 5% chance of the Summoner and all their currently active cards being completely healed and/or repaired. 5% chance for one of the Summoned cards to instantly reach the next Rarity. 10% chance of a random Arcana’s Games card being rewarded. 20% chance of all cards in the graveyard being returned to the deck. 20% chance of gaining 1 experience point. 35% chance of the Summoner gaining 6 Mana and drawing a card to their hand.]

Before I start building my decks, I wanna get rid of some of my excess cards. I have nine Trash cards… But they’re essentially just three types of cards in the end: Arcane Roulette, Lesser Arcane Resurrection and Lesser Arcane Empowerment. I guess I’ll just fuse them all together at the same time.

[Spell: Arcane Resurrection
Type: Supportive
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 6
Description: The Summoner can choose any Creature card in the graveyard and return it to their hand. If the card costs less than 6 Mana, then they can play it immediately for free. If they can’t play it immediately or decide not to play the card immediately, then they can choose a second Creature card from the graveyard to return to their deck.]

[Spell: Arcane Empowerment
Type: Supportive
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 7
Description: Summons 6 dice, each with six sides and numbered from 1 to 6. The Summoner casts all dice at the same time and receives Mana, equivalent to the combined numbers of all dice.]

[Spell: Arcane Roulette
Type: Passive
Rarity: Common
Mana Cost: 6
Description: Summons a magical roulette wheel with 5 possible outcomes. 20% chance of a random Arcana’s Games card being rewarded. 20% chance of all cards in the graveyard being returned to the deck. 20% chance of gaining 1 experience point. 40% chance of the Summoner gaining 6 Mana and drawing a card to their hand.]

The result were those five cards. Since there was a five-percent chance of dying with the Trash version of Arcane Roulette, it was always pretty useless. Now though, it’s actually pretty great. There a chance to either get experience or an Arcana’s Games card. Both of which are important. Not sure why I said something so obvious, but I just felt like saying it.
