After everyone in the village said farewell to Grandpa Greenstone in their own ways, they went home to rest up for work tomorrow. They didn’t live in the busy towns and cities, so most people in the village never had any strict work schedule. Klein had to leave the party early because one of the women in the village went into labor. As the only real ‘Doctor’, he was basically on call 24/7 for various emergencies. As his apprentice, Ivy had to go help out.

Soon enough, Myrtle and Ivy also came over to sit on the side with the three boys. Unfortunately for the other kids that wanted to come over and chat, the round metal table could only seat about six people at most. Besides Jade, who was new, the other seven of them grew up together and were basically best friends. Or at least must closer friends than the rest of the kids in the village.

The Cursed Words, Volume 1, Chapter 4: Klein the Plague Doctor

Inside the house with the angry woman sculpture, there were quite a few other statues. Mostly animals like wolves, lions and eagles. None of them were life-sized, but more than one was actually made out of green jade. Oliver recognized it as one of the more valuable gemstones that could be found in the mines. Of course, there were also very stark differences in value depending on the appearance and quality of the jade.
