Chapter 213: Inari’s ‘Room’

Talia sighed, shaking her head and telling the little boy: “Miguel, that sounds extremely wasteful… Why would I need a bedroom that was larger than our house?”

“Ah, I get it, you’d rather wait until I find a really badass mana-core with the Wind Affinity, right? Hehe~, fine~, I’ll just use this to create a place for the adorable fox-girl to live in…” Michael walked forward and entered into the hallway, almost reaching the back-door, before he turned to the right. When he entered inside of the sixty square-meter room, the curious vixen and slightly aroused High-Elf, followed after him.

Taking the green bead out of his inventory, he grumbled “Ugh, so expensive… Well, it’s a good thing that Inari’s rich, hehe~.” After the mana-core vanished from his hand, and five-hundred gold disappeared from his Companion’s ‘Currency’ tab, everything around them started to change at an astonishing pace.

The entrance disappeared and all three of them were suddenly standing in the middle of a completely empty plot of land. In every direction for dozens of miles, there was nothing but rich and fertile soil, and an immense aura of Nature enveloped the entire area. It was so oppressive that Michael felt that the Necropolis was actually more comfortable. On the other hand, both Talia and Inari felt incredibly peaceful and elated by that soothing mana.

Regardless of his discomfort, he still smiled and explained “Yeah~, so apparently, past a certain point, you can’t actually buy ‘bedrooms’ anymore. It really isn’t surprising, considering that at rank-E, I could get a place like the ‘Arcane Prison’. Both Elina and Sarah do have beds in their rooms, but there’s also a shit-ton of other stuff as well. Basically, this was listed under the ‘Naturist’ Profession… and I figured it kinda suited your tastes, for various reasons. I know you still haven’t decided exactly what you wanna pick, but this ‘zone’ is literally over twenty-four hundred square miles. That means it’s like sixty times as large as our entire fucking territory… By that I mean Luxiana and the whole damn mountain! Holy shit, hahaha~, and that isn’t even the best part!

“You can seriously fill this entire place with whatever you want, plant all kinds of stuff, you can even have your whole ‘pack’ living inside of it. From the description, plants and animals that live in here, will be able to grow way faster than normal, even if you don’t do anything to them. Aside from that, as you can see, there’s a pseudo sky, clouds, a sun and moon, plus some other important shit. If you keep flying upwards, you’re gonna hit an invisible barrier, and if you go twenty-five miles in any direction, you should be teleported out of the ‘room’.”

Talia suddenly frowned, her jacket was still open, so her abs were easily visible. She felt as if she were starving to death and her abdomen began swelling slowly. Her health, mana and stamina were also dropping and the High-Elf was feeling an immense amount of pain.

Michael sighed dramatically, yelling “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me! We only had sex one time! Such bullshit! Wait a second, what the hell is that?!” Just when he thought that she was about to give birth, dozens of bloody vines erupted from her navel, stabbing into his tiny chest.

Talia screamed “Grah~! What is happening to me~?!” as she began losing control of her body. Her gear transformed into tattoos and she was standing there naked, with her hands aiming up at the artificial sky.

Brown roots erupted from her feet and ankles, immediately digging into the ground, and her head was forced backwards until her spine actually broke. The vines were retracted and the little boy was literally sucked inside of her abdomen, which was swiftly sealed.

Normally, there wouldn’t have been enough space within her torso for Michael to fit, but her flesh and bones were rapidly expanding, changing into something else. Inari wasn’t able to understand what was going on until it was too late to do anything. She just kept growling, while clawing and biting at the bark-like dark-green skin that covered Talia’s body.

Once the dryad reached three meters tall, she stopped growing larger and started being enveloped in thick roots. They seemed to burst out of the ground and wrap around her entire body, until all that remained was the trunk of an enormous tree.

At that point, the fox-girl was completely helpless and just took a few steps backwards, before falling onto the dirt. She stared up at that tall and straight maple tree, whimpering and whining softly.

A pitch-black ‘avatar’ of Michael, in his ‘normal’ appearance, abruptly materialized before the crying vixen. He smirked at her, kneeling down and gently caressing her cheek and neck with his incorporeal left hand, causing her to be severely startled.

Inari barked and growled at the scary phantom, but quickly regained her composure and began excitedly rubbing her body against his chest and face. He snickered, whispering “Don’t worry about us, we’ll be fine… Talia is just having her period or something, I’m sure it’ll be over soon. Anyway, I need you to help me out… Since my ‘main’ body is a little comatose at the moment, you have ta bring me a new one. I guess, technically, it would be considered an ‘old’ one, huh? Sarah’s sleeping, so I can’t ask her to help me out, hehe~. Go into my room upstairs, then jump down that hole behind the tongue-bed. After you get to the Necropolis, pick one of those walking corpses and bring it here for me, okay?”

She hugged his body tightly, while purring and then let go, before transforming into a gigantic Seven-Tailed Fox and sprinting away. The vixen was able to travel several hundred miles per hour, so she was able to reach the barrier rather swiftly.

Fortunately, when she re-entered the ‘room’, both her and the level-four Human Ghoul were deposited right next to the base of that rapidly growing, giant maple-tree. Entering into that relatively short but familiar body, Michael struggled to use his long-dead lungs.

Technically, it was a ‘lifeless’ golem, which was ‘driven’ by Darkness mana, rather than food and oxygen. His circulatory system was there, but it wasn’t working at all, and he felt a little awkward without a beating heart.

Inari shrunk down until she was only the size of a wolf and began anxiously gazing up at her undead ‘friend’. He smirked, telekinetically forcing air into his lungs and whispering “This form is very rigid and I doubt that I’ll be able to make it to the edge of this zone without collapsing from exhaustion. Barely any of my spells are usable right now, so I need you to carry me to the barrier…”

Without hesitation, the fox crawled between his legs and started growing until Michael was riding on her back. Then she used those seven tails to hold him in place, as she sprinted at a frightening speed. If he had been Human, he probably would have lost consciousness from the acceleration.

In eight minutes, they had reached the mirror-like edge of that mysterious world and unhesitantly passed through. The two of them suddenly appeared in the living-room and the nauseous Ghoul immediately fell onto the hardwood floor.

He snickered as he slowly stood up and turned his ominous, pure-white eyes towards the rapidly shrinking vixen. After she transformed into her brown-skinned fox-girl form, Michael whispered “Let’s go experiment a bit more…” while limping towards the hallway.

The walking corpse hobbled into the first room on the right and promptly sat down. Inari copied him and stared at the bright-blue mana-core in his right hand, yelping a few times.

After a moment of hesitation, he threw it into his mouth and struggled to swallow, regardless of how dry his throat was. His flesh began expanding and his legs fused together, while the cataracts in his eyes disappeared, revealing bright-blue, serpentine irises.

Then his gray hair fell out and was replaced by long aquamarine locks. Michael’s deathly complexion was replaced with those pitch-black shark-like scales.

Gills appeared around his ribs and his relatively bulky upper-body became much thinner. Once the entire length of his body was three meters, his transformation finally ended.

A message appeared “You have evolved your Avatar into a rank-F, Mer Ghoul. Stats have increased: +10 Aura, +3 Strength, +3 Vitality, +3 Endurance, +3 Agility, +1 Perception.”

  1. The single chapter bounus releases after the sweet sweet high of HCOP-OD are defiantly curving the withdrawl.

I kinda feel like a dick saying this but something just doesn’t feel quite right about this chapter, it’s kinda hard to understand I had re-read it a few times to figure out what was going on. I wish I could give more direct and constructive criticism, but I really can’t think of any way to really improve it. It kinda feels like you might have had a headache writing this chapter, maybe a lot of rewrites or something, it could just be me.

Overall though I’ve really enjoyed reading your stories. You do really well balancing your all characters OP chaotic natures Without crossing the line into…. wacky, a feat that not many comedy writers manage without an editorial staff reigning them in.

  2. I have no idea what just happened. Talia is K.O. along with Michael’s original (Can I even say that any more?) body. Inari is confused and possibly scared that something happened to him. Michael is having the time of his life making a Avatar ghoul outta one of Sarah’s “Pets”. Did I get it all right yet?
