Chapter 141: Awakening

“Rise and shine, my giant hikikomori lizard-girl~! No seriously, wake the fuck up! Oi, Talia, stop shooting the Wyverns! Inari, quit antagonizing those massive bear-monsters! Elina, stop lighting up the whole zone! This ain’t a goddamn Battleground! Just leave the shitty animals alone and let em flee in peace!” A slightly familiar, masculine voice was shouting loudly, amidst roars, explosions, howling, and screeching noises. When Alice finally opened her bright-silver, serpentine eyes, the first thing she saw was a sky filled with colossal birds, dragons, and all kinds of other magical-beasts.

Suddenly, a message popped-up in front of her face: “You have learned a new spell. Air Manipulation Level 1: The caster controls natural and magical gases, by sending their mana into them. Potency is dependent on the Aura stat.”

There was also another notification: “You have gained a new Passive. Wind Affinity Level 1: Increases mana and health regeneration dramatically, when exposed to windy environments by 10%. Increases damage against enemies of the Earth Affinity by 10%.”

The five-meter tall blue-scaled, lizard-woman, slowly stood upright and looked around her. As far as she could see, there were thousands of animals, treants, and even some anthropomorphic races, grouping up into herds, packs, or raids and sprinting around them.

Some of the beasts were using the chaos to attack each-other and gain an easy meal, but Michael and his Companions were just loitering there. A Dark-Goblin, was wearing a corset, asymmetrical skirt, a veil, mantle, and bright blue gloves that covered her entire arms. She was casually sitting down on a huge stone, and occasionally tossing a throwing-star out, into the distance.

A massive glowing-green, Quad-Tailed Nature-Fox, was tearing the head off of a level-fifteen, rank-F, Elite, White-Tiger of Light. Meanwhile, a High-Elven woman was using a nearly transparent bow, to fire practically invisible Arrows of Wind, while frantically soaring through the air.

When one of those projectiles managed to impact a rank-E, level-twenty, Chaos Wyvern, the gigantic beast’s head exploded. Of course, it had two more, so it didn’t die instantly. After that, she was attacked by a swarm of ‘Vampire Bats’ and had to retreat back to the ground.

As the huge cloud of relatively small undead monsters approached the party, a large-breasted Feline Lesser Angel aimed her pure-white staff towards the sky. She nervously chanted “Goddess of Light, please deliver unto us your divine protection! Blinding Light!” and the end of her pole emitted a radiance so bright, that it disintegrated all of the weaklings that had come within fifty meters.

Then she shouted “Oh-oh! Yay~! Michael, my skill leveled up!” as she turned towards the heavily armored Nephilim. However, at that moment, she managed to attract the attention of several other swarms of flying animals whom had the Darkness Affinity.

“Nyahahahaha~! Die~! Die for me~! Meow~! Super-Duper JJ Beams!” There was also a four-foot tall cat-girl, who was aiming the tips of her tiny index fingers towards a herd of deer in the distance and casting ‘Sundering Beam.’

Michael yelled “For fuck’s sake! All of you! Cut it out!” as he glared at the members of his party, including the newly awakened and completely confused Tyrannosaurus-Elf. Then he turned towards the sky and screeched, in a horribly shrill voice, which caused many of the bats and other creatures to stop attacking and continue flying towards the east.

After that he turned to the incoming enemies in the west, and roared “Fuck off!” while releasing an unnaturally powerful ‘Intimidation’ spell. The ground actually tore apart and a rush of intense Arcane aura bore into the minds of everything that wasn’t an ally, forcing them all to frantically avoid that strange group of incredibly dangerous individuals.

A few moments passed of relative ‘peace,’ and then ‘combat’ had officially ended. Thus, everyone was distributed their experience-points at the same time.

Elina reached level-fourteen, bringing her Strength, Endurance and Vitality up to three each, while raising her Wisdom and Agility to ten. Since Jasmine had also been at level-ten when the battle started, she received the same amount of experience, and hit level-fourteen as well.

The Gunslinger placed three points into Agility, four into Dexterity and one into Perception. Sarah managed to make it to level-eighteen, and placed all three of her stat-points into Strength.

However, Inari wasn’t bound by the same ‘combat’ rules, and received her experience the moment her body digested a mana-core below rank-E and no more than five-levels below her. She also didn’t have to share any experience with anyone else, though she needed to actually devour a mana-core, which meant that it was more difficult for her to level-up.

Thus, the Quad-Tailed Nature-Fox only reached level-fifteen… On the other hand, her gains were much higher than the others, since she was able to obtain stats every time she swallowed a rank-E mana-core.

However, the person who had gained the most experience, was the one who didn’t actually do anything except sleep the entire time. A loud monotonous feminine voice announced “Error! Maximum level increase within one combat session has been exceeded! Converting excess experience points into physical currency…”

Above Alice’s head appeared, “+239 Gold, +19 Silver,” and her giant body glowed brightly, as she level jumped from three to ten, instantly. Without understanding what was going on, she unhesitatingly placed seven points each, into Wisdom and Intelligence.

Michael grumbled “Goddamn it! I barely got any experience!” though he also didn’t participate in any of the actual fighting either.

The surroundings were still relatively chaotic, but within Michael’s fifty-four meter wide Arcane aura, nothing dared to approach. However, Elina had also listened to him and stopped illuminating the area unnecessarily.

They were all standing in the wreckage of what was once a large fortress, but even before the undead invasion, it had long-ago become rubble. Alice nervously looked around at everyone, and they were all staring at her, so she asked “Umm~… Can anyone please tell me what’s going on? Who are you and how did I get here? Actually, where are we even at?”

Sarah glared at the giantess, as the shuriken in her hand turned into a bright-blue mist and began orbiting around her tiny body. Jasmine ran over and started rubbing her face and chest against the lizard-woman’s left leg, while purring happily.

Elina frowned, while walking over and pulling the little kitten away, and Talia sighed dramatically. The Huntress unequipped her bow and casually patted the dust off of her green skirt and blouse.

Finally, someone decided to speak up, “Arf~! Bark, bark~! Awooo~! Yip! Grr~! Ewo~!” Unfortunately, the only person there who could actually understand that nonsense was a High-Elf who refrained from translating.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, Michael yelled “Holy cuntsauce! Hahahaha~! Hey guys! Look what I found!” as he started smashing apart an ancient, mostly destroyed, stone-pillar: with his fists.

Alice muttered “Huh… Well, it seems that my evolution has been completed, though I don’t have much of a reference, so I can’t tell how successful it’s been.” while gazing down at her bright-blue body. Her relatively long and flexible snake-like neck was a huge improvement over the one that she previously had; she could also tell that her snout had become more narrow as well.

A message appeared in front of each of them at the same time: “You have discovered the Ancient Tomb of Princess Carrabelle! This is a Level-Twenty, Rank-G, Dungeon, recommended for groups of five to ten Players. Solo Players are allowed to utilize their Companions within the Dungeon.”

Michael stared down at the ominously well maintained marble staircase, before turning to the others and shouting “What the hell are you all waiting for? We finally found a fucking dungeon! Let’s go~!”

Talia nodded her head in agreement, while Jasmine yelled “Nyah~! I’m gonna be the first to enter~!” as she squirmed out of the worried Priestess’ arms and sprinted down the steps. Inari barked excitedly, as she chased after the little girl.

Elina sighed, complaining “Michael, you’re the only one of us who actually meets the level requirement… Are you sure this is a good idea?”

Sarah glared at the angelic woman, “Stop being such a whiny little bitch! It ain’t like we can die, so don’t be a pussy.” The Nephilim had completely forgotten that the Priestess had a fertilized egg growing inside of her, or he probably wouldn’t have decided to place her in such an unreasonably dangerous situation.

Once everyone else had already started heading down into the mysterious Dungeon, Alice laid down onto her stomach and struggled to crawl after them. She grumbled “Ugh, I have no idea what’s going on, but you little bastards better not leave me behind…”

  1. Let me guess, the dungeon is known as a ‘mystery dungeon’ and is randomly generated, you lose all non-soulbound loot on death (already established that), you have to eat a extremely large amounts of food to not starve and it tosses you out if you wipe. Huh? Wrong dungeon crawling? Phffff.
