Chapter 265: To the Victors Goes the Loot?

“Darkening Level 10(Max): The caster reveals their demonic nature. Pupils become serpentine, horns grow from the sides of their head, claws and talons erupt from from their fingers and toes, while their veins and arteries turn pitch-black. Canine teeth enlarge and a large snake-like tail emerges from the tip of their spine. Increases the caster’s size by 100%. Duration is dependent on the Endurance stat. Costs 10% of the caster’s maximum health. Once the spell ends, 5% of maximum health will be restored.”

“Chaotic Empowerment Level 10(Max): The caster compresses their Chaotic and Light aura within their body and enters a berserk state. Strength, Vitality and Endurance are all increased by 100%. Regenerates 1 HP every second, for each point of Aura. Silences the caster and prevents them from communicating properly. Costs 100 mana per second to channel. Must be under the effects of ‘Darkening’ to cast.”

The moment that his overpowered ‘self-healing’ ability reached the maximum level, he reached down and grabbed the talon that was jutting out of his abdomen. With his current mana-pool, he could only possibly have access to his doubled Strength for two seconds. Thus, he swiftly pushed the claw out of his body while using all of his leverage to force the enormous siegeblade to drill forwards.

Michael effortlessly broke through the back of the Aqua Dragon’s nasal cavity, piercing into its brain and continuing towards that vulnerable viscous membrane. His Chaotic Empowerment wore off, but he still had plenty of momentum and force behind his ‘chainsaw-like’ sword.

Of course, his entire body was also drenched in an acidic sludge, which also managed to deal a decent amount of poison damage. Fortunately, the beast only survived for a few moments before its health reached 0/4500 and then vanished into the demonic-angel’s inventory.

After that, he began sinking rapidly into the seemingly bottomless lake, but the moment he ‘unequipped’ his siegeblade, his descent ceased. Using ‘Scan’ he rapidly checked the vicinity around his body for at least a few hundred meters.

Within moments, he managed to suck the three Epic items that the Raid Boss dropped, into his bag slots. Then he rapidly began soaring out of the the water, and the moment he emerged, Talia, Jasmine and himself were each rewarded with a huge ‘+1380 Exp’.

The adorable cat-girl managed to jump up two levels, placing all her stats into Dexterity and Agility. On the other hand, Talia was only able to reach level thirty-one and placed her points into Wisdom. Michael was the same, placing his four stat-points into Intellect and sighing dramatically.

He grumbled “Ugh, we just killed a damn Raid Boss dragon that was a higher level than us, plus all those Storm Bitches… There’s such a ridiculous difference in the experience requirements every ten levels.”

His demonic and angelic features swiftly diminished, until he was back in his usual state, then he teleported to the northeastern shore and saw an exuberant blonde-haired woman. She had placed all of those corpses into her inventory, including everything that they had been carrying on them. However, since they were Ultra-Elites, they each dropped at least one piece of equipment: six Rares and a single Epic.

Aside from that, whenever she became more powerful, Talia would have a childish and cheerful smile on her beautiful face. Michael quickly took a few steps forward and she leaned down, pressing her lips against his; as the two of them were embracing each other, Jasmine complained “Nyah~, Mikey~, I wanna go home~! I’m so~ tired~! I miss Lina~ and, and even Little Rei-Chan! Meow~!”

The kissing couple separated momentarily, and the adorable kitten cuddled up against their legs. He sighed dramatically and muttered “Yeah, we really do need to get the hell outta here, before another army of assholes decides to show up…” With a simple thought, the ‘Return Home’ feature activated and a spherical spacial distortion engulfed all three of them at the same time.

Standing in that pure-white room, Talia giggled, “Miguel, hurry and display our ‘spoils’! From those six fools, Jasmine and I have obtained a total of three-hundred gold coins! Fortunately, I brought a myriad of ‘Arcane’ containers from the kitchen. Thus, I was able to store all of their clothing and the items they carried, along with their corpses. Hmph~, I recognized these old putas as the Goddess of Storms’ ‘servants’. I remember how they used to look down upon myself and even Grandfather… Yet, now they could not even defend themselves! Unfortunately, their most important equipment was ‘Soulbound’, and unobtainable. However, that is not the case for these!”

The three of them sat down in a triangular formation, cross-legged, as the elven Huntress removed a mysterious crystalline jewelry box from her inventory. Once she opened it, she reached her right hand inside and began removing all seven of the items, one at a time.

Michael snickered, shaking his head and wondering “How the hell did you managed to keep from murdering anyone over the past seventy-four years? I mean, I’m not judging you or anything like that, just curious…”

She frowned, “It is not ‘murder’ to eliminate enemies that are attempting to kill you, it is self-defense. The Goddess will not fault me for ‘enjoying’ the fruits of my labor!”

Jasmine suddenly yelled “Nyah~! Mikey~ lookie~! Hehehe~, I got this super-awesome, amazing, crazy-OP, gun!”

“Angelic MP-5 of Justice: +270 Attack Rating, +10 Agility, +10 Dexterity, +5 Perception, +3 Charisma, +2 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, +2 Luck, +2 Willpower. Able to fire single shots, 3-round burst, or full-auto at 15 rounds per second. Can hold thirty 9mm rounds at a time. Maximum effective range is 200 meters. Accuracy may vary depending on Luck and Dexterity. Counts as a two-handed weapon. Soulbound to Jasmine Jade. Epic Quality, requires level-30.”

It was an extremely reflective, pure-silver submachine gun that wasn’t much larger than the little-girl’s golden desert eagle. There was a pistol-grip, no stock, and the entire structure was fairly compact. The barrel wasn’t particularly long, but there was still a smooth white leathery material that covered it on the bottom, so that it would be easier to hold. That SMG had a few sights on the top, though there was no scope, and it didn’t seem to include a compressor or silencer of any sort.

Unfortunately, there was a serious issue, which made the weapon seem a lot less impressive: It only came with two clips. That was essentially the major downside to all ‘divine’ firearms; obviously, if she had created one herself, she could have added a dozen magazines to the ‘item’. Archers typically didn’t need to worry about that, since they technically reloaded after every ‘shot’.

Michael asked “So, are you gonna use that new gun or the old combo? I’m not really sure which one is ‘better’…” Without saying anything, he casually spent five ‘Exp Packs’ on her, and instantly raised her level to thirty, so that she could use her new items.

Jasmine tilted her head, then the relatively large SMG in her hands began glowing brightly and transformed into a shiny silver chain on her right wrist. It was still technically ‘equipped’ and giving her all of the stats except for ‘Attack Rating’, even after she removed the other two pistols from her inventory.

Then all three of them turned into tattoos at the same time, and she grinned triumphantly towards the sighing Nephilim. Of course, since she had never used a submachine gun before, she also didn’t have any Passives to make her more accurate or effective while using one.

Obviously, not all of the items were quite so amazing, and in comparison seemed rather bland to the ‘experienced’ Player.

“Silver Ring: +4 Agility, +4 Charisma, +2 Luck. Increases the wearer’s training speed in the Light Affinity by 30%. Soulbound to Jasmine Jade. Rare Quality, requires level-30.”

“Silver Earring: +4 Agility, +4 Charisma, +2 Luck. Increases the wearer’s training speed in the Light Affinity by 30%. Soulbound to Jasmine Jade. Rare Quality, requires level-30.”

“Jade Hairpin: +4 Vitality, +4 Charisma, +2 Willpower. Increases the wearer’s training speed in the Nature Affinity by 30%. Soulbound to Talia Aeris Ramirez. Rare Quality, requires level-30.”

“Crystalline Mana-Generator: Can help a person achieve Arcane enlightenment? Rare Quality, no level requirement.”

“Demonic Leech: Able to remove ‘impurities’ from a person’s body? Rare Quality, requires level-30.”

“Orchid Pendant: While ‘activated’, the wearer becomes impossible to ‘Identify’ by anyone below level-30. Rare Quality, requires level-30.”

Michael grumbled “So basically, the both of you got useful and awesome Rare accessories… but they gave me an Arcane vibrator and a goddamn demonic pocket-pussy?”

Jasmine patted him on the left shoulder and comforted “Nyah~, at least they’re Rare?”

Talia smirked, telling him “It is because the Goddesses are annoyed by your typical vulgar behavior.”

A few seconds passed, before the Nephilim retorted “Your necklace looks like a vagina.”

  1. Like always, don’t expect any sort of ‘normal’ scheduling lol. Went to sleep yesterday at 11 am, woke up today at 9pm and just got around to editing chapter 265 like five minutes ago rofl. Anyway, today was basically like a breakish day for me, as far as writing goes. I’m still in the early stages of Book 2, so that’s bound to happen a lot… Sometimes I write like half a chapter and then just throw it away, going into a completely different direction with the ‘real’ chapter lol. Also, I’m thinking about naming the first book “Seeking OP-ness”, but I still haven’t decided yet. “Enter the OP-ness”, “Building OP-ness”, “Creating OP-ness”, “Forming OP-ness”, “A Taste of OP-ness”, “Crouching Noob, Rising OP-ness”, “Entering Arcana”…. Okay, I can’t think of anything else right now rofl.
