I Finally Published Black Mithril: Volume 1 of Immortal Soul!

I initially planned to publish this way back in July, then got pushed to August, then I finally did it the other day, but then I made some mistakes… Like the paperback not having numbered pages or the hardcover’s cover art looking weird. As of writing this, the previews for both versions still look like they’re messed up in those ways. But as far as I know, it should be fine. The changes in review took a while, basically a day, but now they should be fixed. Hopefully lol.

Either way, I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna buy copies of my own book, again. For the first time in like… 7 years. Technically my brother bought a hardcover of The Diary of Destiny King and I signed it for him. My mother also signed as the illustrator. I took pics and stuff but I’m worried about posting them, because uh… Mysterious reasons.

Anyway, so the moral of the story is that I did it. I actually finally published Black Mithril after writing and posting it on Royal Road Legends like 10 years ago. Seriously, 10 years… 2014 feels like a lifetime ago, but I still remember it surprisingly clearly sometimes.

After Black Mithril, I’m going to be publishing Greenstone, Volume 1 of The Cursed Words, then 235, Volume 2 of The Cursed Words. At least I’m pretty sure that’s how I’ll do it. We’ll see what happens.

I’m editing HCOP to publish as well, but I’m not totally sure how I’m gonna do that. Might break it down into mini-books lol. Like Arcs, similar to how Manga do things. I mean, that’s how I originally wrote the story.

I’m not sure whether that would sell better or worse than big, chunky books, but the main reason for breaking up HCOP into smaller pieces is because of how ‘dangerous’ some of the content might be for Amazon Kindle. If you’re a fan, you know what I mean.

It’s the same reason I’m worried about trying to publish Danica’s Monster on Kindle, which is a smut that includes necro, loads of gore, cannibalism, uh… That’s it, maybe? I guess it’s not that big of a deal. There’s definitely much worse on Amazon, but I’m still always afraid of getting hit by random bans or whatever. Heard too many horror stories about publishing on KDP.

I also made a Barnes and Noble account, and a Draft2Digital account, though I haven’t published anything on either site yet. Still mainly working on KDP since I’m more familiar with it.

Aside from that, I also signed it up for Kindle Unlimited or whatever it’s called. So if you have that, you can read the whole thing for free. If not, it’s three bucks, but I think I signed up for some uh… Discount where it’s gonna be .99 cents for a week? I don’t remember the week though. Maybe in August?

I don’t really know. I can’t remember. But that’s beside the point. I’ve been thinking a lot about turning my other stories into actual physical books lately. I always put it off because I had other priorities, still kinda do, plus it’s annoying to buy or create book covers. Not to mention the time and effort it takes to seriously edit some of my older stories like Immortal Soul and HCOP.

Also, the rules about offensive content and NSFW stuff on Kindle are harsh, so I’d be publishing those other stories on like Smashwords or something. Either way, I figured I should make a post here before I totally forget about it and get distracted by the next thing that happens(It’s always something lol).

[Death ain’t the end, so long as you don’t want it to be. For people who wanna die and stay dead, that’s easier said than done. But it is still kinda possible. Just like taking a long, dreamless sleep… Except, for me at least, I always have to wake up to piss eventually.

Stories do need to end eventually though. Not necessarily in the conventional sense. You know, where the author is just like “Fuck this shit, I got bills to pay, I can’t waste my time on this series that isn’t even making me any money anymore!”

Or when a series gets cancelled for political bullshit reasons that shouldn’t even exist. The most common problem is just having bad ratings or low funding. So many awesome shows ended prematurely.] Continue reading →

I made a few posts like this already, but it’s still something I needed to talk about again… Since people usually don’t read my news-related posts anyway.

For the time being, the rest of TDoDK won’t be up on my site… I mean, I did publish the entire book on Amazon, but I also published on Tapas. As far as Amazon goes, I can do whatever I want. However, I did sign a contract with Tapas and I’m not 100% sure I’m even supposed to put this many chapters up as it is…

For those of you who are donors or patrons, you can find the whole story in my Google Drive. Immortal Soul is the same way. If you were a donor or patron in the past and donated/pledged 10 dollars or more, then you still have access to the folder even now.

If you’re wondering why I’m doing this… It’s because it’s expensive to live lol. Not even live ‘well’, just surviving is ridiculously hard. Even with all the donations I’ve gotten over the years, it isn’t enough. And ad revenue is practically non-existent now days. For three years I’ve basically given away my stories for free, but I can’t afford to do it anymore and honestly, it wouldn’t make sense for me to do it anymore.

Of course, I doubt that Tapas will want some of my stories rofl. They haven’t even mentioned “Hardcore OP-ness” yet. I’m just gonna take a wild guess and say that it’s probably too vulgar or has too much profanity, I don’t fucking know lol.

Anyway, here, Donate if you want to… But my site doesn’t get enough traffic for me to keep all these stories up on here forever, if you know what I mean.

They Finally Arrived

No clue if this will actually work or not… But I’m trying to embed my facebook post into my wordpress post lmao.

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but WordPress only lets you have a very small amount of pictures, so I didn’t want to waste a bunch of that space with these. However, I’d like for people to be able to see it :).

The two books I ordered finally arrived… And I’m pretty excited that there weren’t any major problems that I noticed lol. At least not from my perspective as a person who has literally never read a physical book before in my entire life. I’m sure there was something I screwed up though.

Also, two books together weigh about 6.4 pounds, roughly 3 kilograms. The standard size for books was like 6×9, but after going crazy trying to format everything properly, I just said “This is good enough!” And then I picked 8.5×11, so yeah, it’s a big book lol.

The paperback and ebook finally got linked together. Also, the ‘Matchbook’ thingy actually works, so when you buy the paperback, you can get the ebook a lot cheaper.

Also, I’d like to thank everyone who bought my novel :). The ‘Report’ thingy obviously isn’t working right, so I don’t know how many people actually bought the paperback yet, but I was still surprised to see so much support lol.

I’m honestly pretty excited to see the physical copies of a book that I wrote, but the 2 I ordered won’t get here until next week. I probably won’t be able to settle down until I actually see the physical copy and make sure that there’s nothing seriously wrong with it…

My ‘Best Seller’ rank is #184,837 lol, so I’ve got a long way to go. It’s kinda scary to see such a big number when it comes to rankings, but considering that there are literally millions of books in the Amazon store… I wonder if that’s actually low or not?

Anyway, I need to get back to writing now :).

Synopsis

Accidents happen when you least expect them. Often due to negligence, but coincidences do not exist. In an alternate reality, where magic exists and deities are abundant, fate is much more than just a concept.

After the sudden death of her brother, Destiny inherits an amazing opportunity. Many people dream of traveling to other worlds and going on fantastical adventures. However, for the average man or woman to survive in the harshest environments on Earth would be nearly impossible.

In order to evolve, both mentally and physically, Destiny King must undergo many trials and tribulations… Whether she wants to or not. Because the only alternative, is death.

Prelude

Agriculture is usually underrated and overlooked. Farming has often been perceived as low-class or work designated to peasants throughout the ages. However, without agriculture, civilization would be unable to exist or persist.

Survival would still be possible, but the quality of life would be drastically lower. Hunting is simply too dangerous, inefficient and unstable to support a large population. Gathering wild plants can be just as hazardous and difficult as hunting.

Without understanding how difficult life can be without the amenities you take for granted each day, you wouldn’t be able to truly appreciate what it means to be a Kitsune. Power must be earned.

You will suffer many hardships, but if you do not have the will to survive, then how can I trust you to carry out my will? How could I bestow upon you my blessings if you are unwilling to fight for them?

If it is your destiny, then perhaps you will manage to overcome these trials… If not, then I can only offer my condolences. I implore you Child, do not attempt to take this test without proper preparation and settling any affairs you might have. Do not accept this challenge unless you are completely confident in yourself and your ability to survive under extreme adversity!

This is not a game! You still have a chance to turn back… Are you certain that you wish to become a Kitsune?

 

Yeah, I decided to change the old Synopsis into a Prelude and make a new Synopsis that’s more… Like, synopsis-ey?

Yesterday was “Chaotica’s Coliseum” and today will be “The Diary of Destiny King”. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll pick tomorrow… Maybe TDoE? But there is another possibility… Well, I’ll decide tomorrow lol.

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys the heads up that there’s gonna be a torrential downpour of Sifian proportions in a few minutes…
