TDoDK Chapter 3, Day 14: Watching the Suns Set

If I ever make it back home, I think I might become a photographer. I wish the cameras on my tablet and phone were better, but even the way they are, I’ve gotten loads of awesome pictures. A few minutes ago, I just took an amazing video of the twin suns setting behind the distant sand dunes. Mom and Dad would love the scenery out here… Well, once they got over the excruciating heat, lack of running water, living underground in a burrow and all the other crap they would have had to deal with.

“You have done well so far Child, but your journey has only just begun. The central deserts of Geb may be exceedingly harsh, yet life still persists. Although most of the planet is covered by deserts, some are much more fertile and lush than others. You have merely experienced a very small portion of what this world has to offer… Not only that, but there are even indigenous people who have survived the ancient cataclysm and continued to live on. Perhaps one day, you will be able to meet them… However, you are not yet a true Kitsune.”

[The First Phase of the Kitsune Training Program “Desert Survival” has been successfully completed. +10 Exp. Level has increased from 2 to 3. +1 EP. +10 KP.]

“The first stage of the Kitsune Training Program is to survive for more three days within the central deserts of Geb, unlock at least five organisms within the ‘Life’ Tab of the Shop, undergo one Adaptation and have a total of over twenty-five Kitsune Points saved up. If you surpass the minimum requirements, then your rewards will be greater.”

[Grading Destiny King’s Performance… Above Average. +5 Exp, +5 KP. Sewing Kit and Wood Pellets have been unlocked.]

“You managed to do pretty well, but you could have performed better. Truthfully, the chances of surviving the next stage of the Kitsune Training Program without the rewards from getting the Above Average grade are extremely low… Of course, that’s assuming that you’re a Human who brought very few supplies with them. If your ‘Race’, or you personally have some sort of physiological advantages, then it wouldn’t really matter too much either way. However, I think it’s pretty obvious that the better you do overall, the more rewards you’ll receive. I suggest that you try a little harder to complete objectives in the future.”

[Tutorial Program Entering Second Phase… Erecting Barrier, please standby.]

What do you mean “Try a little harder”?! You think I wasn’t trying?! I didn’t even sign up for this nonsense! Send me home already! I don’t care about being a ‘Kitsune’, I just wanna go home and see my parents again! Are you reading this?! Is anybody reading this?!

No, no, no~! Grah~! Freaking floating again!

Okay, I’ve calmed down a bit… I’m still levitating a few meters in the air though. Hmmm, it’s taking a lot longer than the last time. The temperature is getting colder at a steady pace, from scorching hot to a cool autumn breeze.

Nope, now it’s freezing. Really, super-duper, ice-box cold! It seriously feels like I’m going to freeze to death… Ah~, my fingers are cramping up a bit. When is this thing going to get there?

Oh, I’m falling really slowly. The temperature is still dropping though. Ah, I can see! The pitch-black darkness was replaced by a bright white… You’ve gotta be kidding me!

“Welcome young Kitsune, to Sif!”

Author’s Note

For the time being, the rest of TDoDK won’t be up on my site… I mean, I did publish the entire book on Amazon, but I also published on Tapas. As far as Amazon goes, I can do whatever I want. However, I did sign a contract with Tapas and I’m not 100% sure I’m even supposed to put this many chapters up as it is…

Anyway, here’s the link to TDoDK on Tapas: “The Diary of Destiny King

And here’s TDoDK on Amazon Kindle: “The Ebook!

For those of you who are donors or patrons, you can find the whole story in my Google Drive. Immortal Soul is the same way. If you were a donor or patron in the past and donated/pledged 10 dollars or more, then you still have access to the folder even now.

If you’re wondering why I’m doing this… It’s because it’s expensive to live lol. Not even live ‘well’, just surviving is ridiculously hard. Even with all the donations I’ve gotten over the years, it isn’t enough. And ad revenue is practically non-existent now days. For three years I’ve basically given away my stories for free, but I can’t afford to do it anymore and honestly, it wouldn’t make sense for me to do it anymore.

Of course, I doubt that Tapas will want some of my stories rofl. They haven’t even mentioned “Hardcore OP-ness” yet. I’m just gonna take a wild guess and say that it’s probably too vulgar or has too much profanity, I don’t fucking know lol.

Anyway, here, Donate if you want to… But my site doesn’t get enough traffic for me to keep all these stories up on here forever, if you know what I mean.

  2. Nooooo, she lost her farm.
and her pets/ food. She didn’t even get to taste lizard. Is there a chance of teleportation later? Or at least way to collect stuff from the planet?

Wait a minute, did she just lose all of her stuff except for the tablet? if so, there go most of her KP’s right there trying to replace stuff.
