CC V1, Chapter 5, Part 4: Natural Powers

Typically, passive Powers were some of the weakest and most subtle. A good example was “Immune System Boost” from the Nature Element. The first level was able to handle most unranked pathogens, but a Rank-G virus would still be totally unimpeded.

“Fucking A…” Even after narrowing her choices down to Natural and Chaotic passive Powers, the list was still enormous.

“What in the hell?” Fire was filled with extraordinary abilities, but some of the Chaotic Powers were insane.

[Rage Brand: Use your blood and mana to form a runic seal on your target. Improves the creature’s Health, Mana and Stamina regeneration. Instills a sense of physical attachment to you, which may turn into hatred or loyalty depending on the circumstances. Costs 150 Souls for level 1. Level 2 requires Rank-F.]

[Lust Brand: Use your blood and mana to form a runic seal on your target. Improves the creature’s Health, Mana and Stamina regeneration. Instills a sense of physical attachment to you, which may turn into lust or loyalty depending on the circumstances. Costs 150 Souls for level 1. Level 2 requires Rank-F.]

[Demonic Brand: Use your blood and mana to form a runic seal on your target. Improves the creature’s Health, Mana and Stamina regeneration. Drastically increases the chance of Chaotic Mutations occurring to the target. Costs 250 Souls for level 1. Level 2 requires Rank-F.]

“Some of this shit is really fucked up but… Ugh, it really could be useful though.”

[Communication Seed: Use your blood and mana to form a parasitic seed, which you can feed to an animal to create a telepathic bond. Has a very short range. Costs 100 Souls for level 1. Level 2 requires Rank-F.]

“Why does this all seem so familiar to me?” However, although the numerous brands and seeds were interesting, they weren’t passive abilities. Thus, she had to ignore them all and go back through the endless stream of Powers in order to make a list of potential choices.

Considering that it was Hell, she wasn’t that surprised to find that the collection of Nature Powers wasn’t nearly as extensive as the Chaotic abilities. However, she did find three that were particularly interesting.

Nature Passives

  1. Peaceful Regeneration: Health, Mana and Stamina regenerate more quickly when you’re out of combat. Works best in natural environments. Costs 50 Souls for level 1.
  2. Chaos Eater: When you consume creatures, plants or people of Chaotic origins, you will regenerate Health, Mana and Stamina much more rapidly. Your tastebuds will change and other types of food will become less appealing to your body. Costs 50 Souls for level 1.
  3. Natural Regeneration: You heal faster from injuries and illnesses. Costs 20 Souls for level 1.

Peaceful Regeneration was fairly cheap and was great overall, but the main problem was that she wasn’t sure how well it would work in the bowels of Hell. Chaos Eater was the same price and in her circumstances, it could be an excellent choice… Of course, for someone who loves food as much as she does, there’s no way that she would risk ruining her taste buds.

Natural Regeneration was extremely cheap, but unfortunately, it also wasn’t that impressive. With a limit of three possible Powers at Rank-G, she didn’t want to pick something that wasn’t amazing.
