OP-ness Returns, Chapter 6: Patch Notes

[The drop-rate of all non-quest items will be lowered significantly, due to the amount of Players and the lack of items. Soulbound items will be far more scarce, but it is estimated that Artifacts will become far more common, due to the amount of Players who can now create them.]

[The Auction Function has been made available to all Players above level 20. Players will be able to use this feature to buy and sell any non-soulbound item, and even some living creatures depending on their level of sentience. For a price of course.]

[The Fast Travel system has been reworked to accommodate so many Players simultaneously. Only Major Cities and other important places will be available for normal Fast Travel, while the prices have increased dramatically. However, Players will be able to teleport to their homes free of charge and at any time, when Player housing becomes available… Eventually.]

[All ongoing quests will be terminated. If they are important to the Player’s main story, they could be reacquired, though it is unlikely since the Beta test had very few storyline quests available.]

[Players and their Companions will have a unified quest log, as well as a singular storage space and a combined extradimensional money pouch. This will prevent a lot of confusion and problems that were prevalent in the Beta Test.]

[The currencies in use in the Universe of Arcana are Copper at the lowest and Obsidian at the highest. The standard conversion rate is 100:1 with every type of coin. 100 Copper = 1 Silver. 100 Silver = 1 Gold. 100 Gold = 1 White Jade. 100 White Jade = 1 Obsidian. All Player currencies have been reset to 0 and the difficulty of gaining currency has been raised significantly. This includes the various types of Favor as well. Exp Packs have been removed.]

“Oh for fuck’s sake, I had 30 of them! God damn it! Why didn’t I use them?!” Michael shouted angrily, but didn’t stop reading the seemingly endless announcements.

[Item Quality has been expanded: Trash, Poor, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Exquisite, Epic, Extraordinary, Legendary, Mythical, Divine. Stat bonuses for items will be standardised as well and greatly limited, thus allowing for more balance between Humanoid and Magical Beast Players.

[Soulbound Equipment will now have the ability to scale in level with the Player, but at a cost depending on rarity: Rare 1 Silver, Exquisite 10 Silver, Epic 1 Gold, Extraordinary 10 Gold, Legendary 1 White Jade, Mythical 10 White Jade, Divine 1 Obsidian per 10 levels. It is also possible to unlock Quests to increase the rarity of equipment, thus allowing sentimental Players to hold onto their items for much longer than before. There are also methods now to transfer Soulbound Equipment to other Players, as there were before, however it is much simpler now. The Player must simply create a Quest for the other Player or Players to complete and the item will be transferred automatically.]

All four of them were dumbfounded, even Inari. Sarah screamed, “My fucking money! Fuck you Arcana! Fuck your stupid shitty transparent cunt!”

Michael gritted his teeth, before transforming into a giant demonic angel and roaring furiously. Inari growled and returned to her normal giant fox form, digging into the ground and throwing dirt everywhere in frustration. Even the High Elven Huntress was clenching her fists and had a large vein protruding from the left side of her forehead.

After the extradimensional spaces were combined, the unified inventory was actually far smaller than before. Which certainly didn’t help with the irritation that all four of them experienced.

Although the four nudists were too angry to notice, the stat changes actually improved the power of their Equipment. The reason why it sounded like a ‘Nerf’, was because extremely high leveled gear had stat bonuses in the millions. Obviously it was a bit excessive and in need of a number crunch of sorts. However, to the low leveled Players like Michael and his Companions, it was a decent overall Stat Buff. Especially since the drop-rate of Soulbound gear was about to fall into the abyss, much less the extravagant Equipment that those seven possessed.

[Inari’s Gear

Karian’s Fang Collection: +15 Defense Rating, +15 Strength, +15 Vitality, +15 Endurance. Grants claws and fangs +10% Armor Penetration. Counts as a collar and can only be used by magical-beasts. Soulbound to Inari. Epic Quality, requires level-20 to wear.

Vestments of the Savage Druid: +30 Defense Rating, +20 Strength, +10 Agility, +10 Vitality, +10 Endurance, +10 Intelligence, +10 Wisdom. Reduces the mana-cost of Nature spells by 20%. Usable by humanoids and magical-beasts with extreme shapeshifting abilities. Soulbound to Inari. Epic Quality, requires level-30.

Guan Dao of the Jade Dragon: +540 Attack Rating, +20 Strength, +15 Agility, +10 Dexterity, +10 Charisma, +10 Vitality, +10 Endurance. Increases the wielder’s training-speed in ‘Reptilian’ shape-shifting techniques. Usable by humanoids and magical-beasts with extreme shapeshifting abilities. Soulbound to Inari. Epic Quality, requires level-30.]

Since Inari had the least amount of Equipment, hers will be used as the example. Originally, accessories like collars and main gear such as weapons and chest armor would have drastically different Stat values. Yet under the new change, all pieces of Armor are treated the same. While Weapons have more drastic differences, such as one-handed swords dealing half the damage of their two-handed counterparts.

[Inari’s Gear

The standardized Stat-Assignment method became as simple as ‘Level’, multiplied by ‘Rarity’: Rare 1, Exquisite 2, Epic 3, Extraordinary 4, Legendary 5, Mythical 6, Divine 7. Then an extra multiplier of 2 for two-handed weapons, .5 for ‘extra’ weapons like Michael’s balls and a limit of two accessories that can be Equipped at once.

Between the thyroid problems, this weird possibly strep throat infection, and taking the medicine to fix both of them, I’ve been kinda out of it lately lol. So that’s why I haven’t written much lately. In the meantime though, I did binge read and watch a lot of stuff lately lmao.

    • Yeah, I’m feeling better atm. Started taking Amoxicillin yesterday or the day before, it’s hard to keep track lmao. Either way, I’ve started to feel like whatever infection I have is going away. At the very least, it seems like my glands are less swollen and my acne is getting killed off lol.
