Chapter 3: Death with Benefits

Michael’s status-screen opened automatically, but he was surprised when he realized that he only received two points to allocate. Without even having to think about it, he place one in Vitality and the other in Endurance. Continue reading

Chapter 2: A Noob, Learning to Play

Once Michael quickly skimmed through his status, he muttered “Ugh, it feels like my stomach is tearing itself apart… You’re probably not supposed to just take them like vitamins, huh? Actually, there’s probably some kind of alchemy or cooking skill that makes them edible, hahaha~. Oh shit, it feels like I’m gonna die. Hmmm, my HP isn’t dropping, so it should be fine, right? Sigh, I wish I could lay down for a few minutes, but I’m ninety-nine percent sure that I’ll just get swarmed by adorable death-machines… Usually, things like mana-cores from monsters are ingredients to forge or enchant weapons, so I probably wasn’t supposed to eat it.” Continue reading

Chapter 1: The MC Is a ‘No-Lifer’

Drenched in steaming water, a man materialized in the middle of a grassy plain; he was completely naked, with a foamy, white substance in his short, black-hair.  He casually muttered “Okay then… that was weird. Hmmm~ probably aliens? Well, I could just be dreaming, or dead, but somehow, this place feels kinda… different? Maybe I was abducted, or fell through some sort of trans-dimensional portal, heh. Sigh, they could have at least waited until I was finished though.” As soap leaked into his eyes, he shouted “Ow-ow-ow, shit! Damn it! Gah, oi, whoever brought me here; couldn’t you have waited until ‘after’ I got out of the fucking shower!?” Continue reading

Hardcore OP-ness

Okay, so as some of you may or may not know, a few weeks ago I had writers-block while working on chapter eleven of “Immortal Soul” and thought: “Oh hey, maybe I should just half-ass a transportation story to help get over my slump…”  Thus, I finally decided to write something that wasn’t related to “Immortal Soul” for the first time in almost a whole year lol.

Now, even if I have a decent disclaimer already, I kinda feel that it’s necessary to warn people about a few things.  The ‘MC’ is kinda-sorta overpowered, but at the same time, not really.  This isn’t one of those stories, where some random guy gets sucked into another world, and is instantly amazing at everything in the universe.  There’s also the matter of profanity; the narrator doesn’t curse as far as I remember, but characters(Mostly the MC) swears like… well, normal people lol.

There is some sexual-content, but it’s a bit more ‘realistic’ and awkward than you’re probably anticipating.  Don’t expect any rape or slavery nonsense, cause that’s just not physically possible in this game-like world,  I’m already working on chapter 38 of this story at the moment, but I’ve only edited chapter 1 rofl, so yeah, I’ll probably be writing this story faster that I’ll be releasing it :P.  If I keep disclaiming things, I’ll probably end up giving spoilers, so good-luck and be careful out there lol.

Synopsis

Most people pray for good health, a loving family, and to win the lottery.  I asked “Can you send me to a game-like fantasy-style world?  It can’t be too unrealistic, but also, it would be nice if I was immortal to some degree.  Oh yea, no rape or slavery either, cause then I’ll have to spend the whole time trying to create a perfect society, and I’d rather not have to deal with all that nonsense.  No other players either, cause that always creates a ton of annoying drama, and I just want to have a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable time.”

Three years later, after I had completely forgotten about that… well, better late than never I suppose.  The moral of this story, is to be careful what you wish for; also, cuteness is justice, so don’t complain if adorable bunnies beat you to death and devour your corpse.

(Warning: This story includes profanity, nudity, descriptive violence and gore, plus all of the other things that disclaimers usually have to tell you about.  Do not read this if you dislike transportation, virtual reality, fantasy, or other similar genres… or me, because I’m the author.)

Addiction + Status Update on Chapter Eleven

No, this is not about drugs or alcohol… this is about games like “Cookie Clicker” and “Clicker Heroes” or even “The Gate“(My current addiction)  My advice: Don’t play them!  Stay far away and never click those links, because your soul will be corrupted and your mouse will literally break.  Well, “The Gate” isn’t quite as bad as the clicker-duo, but it’s still pretty devastating to your sleeping schedule lol.

Ironically, my purpose for this post was to give you a link to “My Save Data” for “Clicker Heroes” because well… I played it for so damn long, and got so far in it, that it’s kind of a shame for it to just vanish into obscurity :(.  You basically just go to the doc, Ctrl + A, and copy it all; then you go into “Clicker Heroes” and paste the giant clump of randomness into the “Import” thingy in the settings.  Now, if you already play it, and you want to see my progress, just make sure to save your own data to a notepad or google-doc before checking mine out.  Sigh, regardless of how much time I wasted on that damn game, I’m sure there are plenty of crazy people out there who have spent way more time and effort getting even farther than I did, but I still think that my OCD took me pretty far lol.

Anyway, chapter 11 of Immortal Soul had a few delays… because I wasn’t 100% sure which way to go with things, and at one point I almost started writing a new story, (Kind of like a Xianxia-style genre?) but eventually realized what I wanted to happen in chapter 11 and started writing it again.  I’m currently about 4500 words in, so probably halfway done; it’s going to be a relatively long one, compared the last few.  It’s not really a spoiler, since I’ve been planning this for the past… I don’t even know how long exactly, but chapter 11 is definitely going to be in Lorelei’s perspective; chapter 12 will more than likely be in Amber’s perspective, but I might end up making it 3rd person instead(Like chapter 9 and all of Questing lol).

Oh yea, I forgot that I haven’t posted chapter 10… lmao, well, I still haven’t edited it yet, because I’ve been focusing on writing and don’t want to lose my very flimsy concentration.  Basically, when I finish writing chapter 11, I’ll most likely write chapter 12 immediately afterwards, and since it will probably be a short chapter, I’ll hopefully be able to finish both of them this week.  Then I’ll have to edit them, which could take a while, or it could be super-fast depending on how distracted I am lol.

Hmmm, for those of you who don’t care about anything I just said… Here are the Cats you’ve been waiting for!

Music

This might seem strange or unnecessary, but for those of you who are interested, I want to give links to a few ‘playlists’ that I often listen to.  Since grooveshark died, I’ve had to scour youtube for the sounds I crave while reading and writing, so here are my findings.

Animenz and Theishter:Two amazing pianists who transcribe anime music and are the reason I started playing piano (6 months ago lol)

Sam Tsui: A fantastic vocalist and a decent pianist; he often performs music videos with a variety of other talented musicians.  He does a lot of currently popular songs, and impressive mashups.

Mai Uru: An interesting singer from Japan… probably?  She performs a lot of Japanese songs, and has a beautiful voice: very melodic and very peaceful.

Pentatonix: A five person acapella band who are definitely one of my favorite things to listen to.  Each person has their own unique and addictive voice, so if you enjoy singing… definitely a good group to learn from.  Personally, I like to alternate between imitating Avi and Mitch, but my natural range is closer to Scott.  I definitely can’t beatbox, but it’s still fun to try lol.

Lindsey Stirling: An incredible violinist who often performs with other famous youtube artists: For Example, Pentatonix, covering Radioactive by Imagine Dragons.  I’ve never actually learned to play the violin, though I do kinda-sorta have one, maybe lol.  Well, it’s pretty bad, I could never even tune it, so I never really had the motivation to seriously practice it.

Jerry C: I just had to add this guy to the list, because ten years ago, when I started playing guitar, these were the transpositions that allowed me to go from being a noob, to being at least as good as him.  Of course, it took me a few years to get to that point, so don’t expect to watch a few youtube videos and immediately understand how to do sweeps in arpeggio; for that, you need to practice… a lot.  It’s a pretty simple method, and horribly monotonous, but the best way to learn any instrument, is to just watch someone else do it and copy them.  Do it slow, over and over, until eventually, you can play even faster than the people who you had originally thought were impossibly amazing.

If you don’t have fingers, are deaf, have vocal nodes, or some other kind of medical issue that would prevent you from singing or playing an instrument, then ignore my advice.

It feels kind of weird doing a post that has nothing to do with my story, but to me at least, reading is kind of boring without music to listen to.  Although, I probably write better when I’m not listing to music, because I get distracted way too easily lol.

For anyone who doesn’t care about music and would rather just watch and listen to a video about Unusually Large Animals or Adorable Cats, well, there you go :).

Act Four of Immortal Soul

It’s been a pretty long time since the last chapter I posted, but it’s not like I haven’t been working on “Immortal Soul.”  In fact, “Questing” takes place within the same universe and is pretty important to the ‘main-story.’  Plenty of important information has been revealed in those first ten chapters, but it is definitely written in a different style, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Anyway, I’ve written chapter 6 of “Immortal Soul” and just finished editing it, so almost immediately after this post, you should be able to see it pop up.  However, I won’t be releasing the chapter on RoyalRoadL until I’ve editing/writing up to chapter 9… which shouldn’t take that long.  As for the reason… it’s because I feel a lot more pressure from RoyalRoadL lol.  Anxiety I guess?  The people who really want to read ahead will be able to do it on this site, and when I’m ready for a bit more attention, I’ll post them on RRL then.

Questing V1, Chapter 10: Between Heaven and Hell

Throughout Amara, every few seconds a loud ‘bang’ noise would ring out and reverberate across the walled city. A few loud explosions marked the end of what little military force the fortress possessed, and the entire population of nine-thousand or so citizens were holed up in their homes, hiding under their floorboards, and quite a few people were kneeling in the streets. Bad News

Unfortunately, my computer is reaching the end of it’s life.  It’s been nearly ten years since I bought it, and well… nothing lasts forever.  For people who don’t read my story, this probably won’t affect them, but for those that do… I can’t write without a computer.  I could obviously scribble down things on paper like our ancient ancestors did, millions of years ago, but I still wouldn’t be able to upload it to the internet.

Since I don’t know exactly when my computer will actually stop working, I can’t be sure how much time I have left.  Everything I’m currently working on is saved in google-docs, so I won’t lose anything in that sense… but if I can’t use a computer, then I definitely wouldn’t be able to post anything lol.  Essentially, this is just a heads-up to anyone who cares.

I’ve finished chapter 10 of “Questing” and volume 4, chapter 6 of “Immortal Soul” plus I’ve almost finished chapter 7 as well.  I need to edit and post them, but after those, I might have to go back and finally start revamping the first two volumes.  My goal is to make them into a sell-able form, and then put them on Amazon for a few dollars a piece.  If I sell enough, I could hopefully make enough money to buy a new computer, otherwise… Well, if I suddenly disappear for a few months, you all know what happened.

Questing V1, Chapter 9: PVP

A squirrel-headed and fluffy-tailed, white-furred dominatrix-ninja was meditating peacefully on the top of a huge and reflective, silver-disk. Hurricane-force winds were raging around her, while lightning was viciously striking her black-mithril cotton, and demonic-beast leather armor. Continue reading
