Every now and then I feel like making non-chapter posts about various random things, for a myriad of miscellaneous reasons. Today’s randomness stems from my strange desire to share things with people, likely related to my obsessive compulsive disorder lol.
Anyway, the first bit of sharing has to do with Facebook. Pretty sure that most people have a FB account or use it in some capacity. I personally enjoy sharing adorable animal videos whenever I see them… but that doesn’t really have anything to do with what I’m talking about atm.
So, I found this group the other day called “WuxiaWorld Readers” and I decided to join. It’s pretty small right now, but I have a feeling that sooner or later it’s probably going to be relatively huge lol. I mean, if they actually advertised it on Novel Translations or even in the WW comments section, they could get a few thousand members in a day.
If you decide to join it, then you could probably find and add me on Facebook, and I accept pretty much any friend request. Just don’t troll me please, or post weird shit on my wall rofl.
Back to the main point that I was trying to make… Essentially, I’ve noticed that a lot of people are either ‘new’ to the whole translation-addiction thing. Either that, or they simply don’t know the biggest sources of crack-erm, I mean, ‘reading material’.
Now, even ‘I’ have not uncovered every single webnovel ever, because that’d be ridiculous lol. However, there are a few that I pay more attention to than others. Anyway, feel free to post links to various websites that ‘host many translations’ in the comments, since I know that I only named a few of them.
Another great resource to use is Aho-Updates and other similar sites. I only linked Aho-Updates, because they’re the only ones who have “Hardcore OP-ness” on there roflmao. Most of the other ones only deal with translated stories and websites that host translations.
I honestly don’t understand how to ‘do’ Twitter, but if you’re a Twitter-er, then you should ‘follow’ me lol: Mike777ac. Seriously, I only have like 31 followers as I’m making this post, so it’d be funny if there were a few thousand in a couple months… Yeah, I don’t really expect that, but who knows?
Last but not least, this is a link to my current ‘Favorite‘ songs. It changes a lot, but it’s basically the playlist on YouTube that I listen to all the time :P. At the moment, I really like the first song “The Evil King“, I have no idea why, but it’s really catchy for me.
Btw, the whole “Shameless Advertisement” thing is still a thing. If you want your website to be on the list, all you have to do is say so :P. It probably won’t get you that many views right now, but maybe one day it will? It’s kinda like gambling, except you have nothing to lose?
So yeah, over the years, I’ve basically become so desensitized to blood, gore and violence that I honestly can’t tell anymore: What is ‘mature’?
Honestly, I think that “The Vanilla God” isn’t very ‘mature’ in the sense that there is no profanity at all and there definitely won’t be any sexual content… at least not as far as I know.
I mean, in “Immortal Soul” I would downplay the sex and profanity to a certain extent, and the narrator of “Hardcore OP-ness” is pretty straightforward when it comes to describing what’s happening in the least vulgar way possible. However, people still complain about everything being too vulgar, gory or offensive in every way possible.
It seriously makes me wonder if any of those people had ever actually seen porn before lol. Have they ever read erotic novels? I honestly don’t think they have, because I did a few times and it was well… smut. That’s where the name comes from :P.
Maybe I’m too jaded nowadays? Anyway, from my perspective, “Immortal Soul” is PG-13 at most, “Hardcore OP-ness” is like R-ish idk. Every country and even different states have all kinds of ridiculous laws or restrictions.
Still, most people start having sex when they’re teenagers or younger; it’s just a fact lol. Yet, we aren’t supposed to watch porn until we’re adults roflmao. I personally think that people who watch porn from a very young age are less prone to having sex until they’re adults, simply because they aren’t nearly as sexually repressed.
Kids usually start cursing when they’re around 5-9 ‘because’ adults tell them that they aren’t allowed to do it lulz. It’s pretty much the same kind of thing with drugs, alcohol, etctera… I remember having friends in middle-school who were already addicted to nicotine or had become alcoholics.
People who watch violent movies/television shows, or play gory video-games generally don’t feel the primal urges for physical violence as much. Most people still do have them though… It’s just human nature and the more you try to repress your desires, the more ‘dangerous’ it becomes.
Anyway, my point is that I hate censorship and felt like complaining about it lol. Now, go ahead and argue with each other in the comments :).
