Break-Day

Okay then~, it’s been a week since the last break-day, so for those of you(like me) who have trouble keeping track of time… Today/tomorrow, won’t have any chapters being released.

I’ve been kinda slow with writing lately, and have just barely managed to keep ahead by 30+ chapters.  Anyway, I’m currently writing chapter 218, though I almost finished it :).

Aside from just telling people that there won’t be any releases tonight(It’s normally 8pm for me), I didn’t really have anything else to talk about.  Here’s the “Donations” page link that I always give…

I suppose I could let people know that I don’t like being trolled, so don’t do that.  It isn’t ‘constructive criticism’ to tell me that I’m a bad writer, or that you hate a character for some petty reason, or that you aren’t going to read my story anymore because of something that happens in the chapter you just read… Seriously, just don’t, I don’t care why you hate my story, I will delete any posts that piss me off; I literally don’t have the time nor patience to deal with the endless torrent of complaints that seem to spring up every day.

If you have something positive or nice to say about the story, good; that’s what authors like to read.  We enjoy it when people say “Good job, thank you for the hard work.”  Even if I can delete comments that are just really mean to me or rude, it’s still incredibly annoying, because I have to see that garbage and it completely ruins my writing speed.

I’m the type of person who was bullied a lot when I was younger.  Honestly, everyone probably goes through some sort of bullying incident or phase in their lives; it’s just the way humans are.  Probably why we relate so much to these xianxia characters who are treated like trash for no apparent reason, and eventually go on a rampage, getting their revenge lol.  Of course, most of us aren’t homicidal psychopaths, so we have to settle for just getting over it and growing up.  Also, it helps if you start working out like crazy and learning how to defend yourself.  Bullies tent to pick on people who can’t fight back and avoid those who can: same thing with rapists, serial killers, and other such scumbags.

Now that the common-sense lesson is over with, I would like to thank all of the donors and patrons for their amazing support!  I seriously wouldn’t be able to keep writing if it wasn’t for you guys and/or girls out there! 🙂  Everyone who enjoys “Hardcore OP-ness” should wholeheartedly thank them as well, because they’re the reason that I’m able to post 12 chapters a week for you to read.

Break Day and T.V. Show Recommendations?

It’s that time of the week again… Kinda funny how fast time flies when you’re struggling to keep writing at least two chapters every day lol.  Somewhere along the line I screwed up a few times, so I only wrote about 12 instead of 14 this week.

I blame ISSTH and the fact that so many good shows started coming on again :). “The Strain” and “Fear The Walking Dead” just ended, but a bunch of others are still on, or have just begun lol.

“Heroes Reborn” is basically the same as the original “Heroes” lol.  People with superpowers constantly being oppressed, murdered, and enslaved by evil humans :P.

“Once Upon a Time” seems to be having a “Star Wars” theme so far this season, at least from my perspective.  There’s the the Merlin and Camelot stuff too, and overall, I’m liking it so far.

“Limitless” is exactly how I expected it to be: decent.  Not particularly amazing or terrible, just kinda good and not too bad lol.  It’s another one of those crime-solving shows, so if you don’t like them, then you probably won’t like it.

“Doctor Who” is pretty much the same thing as the last however many seasons.  Time-Travel nonsense, awkward British humor, and everyone besides Clara and the Doctor usually die within the episode, so don’t get too attached to random people rofl.

“Supernatural” is still around, in case you thought it was cancelled.  I like the show, regardless of how repetitive and ridiculous it usually is.  All the main characters are still around and the brotherly bromance continues onward lol.

“The Walking Dead” comes on tonight, but I can already guess that they’re gonna kill off a lot of main characters this season… because it’s just a thing that they always do :(.

“Izombie” is back for season 2, thankfully.  It’s a show about a crime-solving zombie-girl, who eats the brains of murder victims and gains some of their memories.  There’s a decent amount of comedy and the characters are very like-able in my opinion.

“The Flash” is about a guy who can run really fast and has to fight against super-human psychopaths… cause that’s just a thing that happens in the DC Universe lol.

“Arrow” is also from the DC Universe and focuses on Oliver Queen, who doesn’t have super-powers, which is lame.  However, it’s still a pretty good show with a lot of action.

“Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” has a lot of alien technology, spy-ish stuff, and superheroes/villains.  It’s probably one of my favorite shows at the moment, and it’s on season 3 now :).

Anyway, now that my impromptu and extremely vague T.V. show recommendation session is finished, I’d like to do some shameless advertising of my “Donation” page.  Aside from that, chapter 171 and 172 will be released in roughly 8 hours, but after that is the dreaded Break Day!

Break-Day Again…

Like always, this is an early-warning notice that my break has finally arrived again lol.  Basically, after the 2 new chapters go up in 5-ish hours, there’s going to be a 48 hour period before the next posts happen.

Aside from that, I can’t really think of anything else to say, so I’ll just give a link to the Donations page and remind people that I’m currently writing chapter 194.

My writing speed has been kinda slow the past few days because I started reading “I Shall Seal the Heavens” and because of that, I fell behind on “Against the Gods.”  The new season of “Once Upon a Time” also started, plus “Peerless Martial God” has been updated like 15 times in the last few days.  Sadly, “Tales of Demons and Gods” dropped down to 1 chapter a day :(: It’s still one of my current favorites though lol.

I haven’t even gotten around to reading the last 2 chapters of “Doulou Dalu” and I’m really far behind on a lot of other xianxia/LNs that I normally keep up with… but that has more to do with writing than reading?

Anyway, a bunch of people suggested that I should read ISSTH and I’ve been putting it off forever because the first chapter was really boring.  However, it’s pretty similar to a lot of other xianxia in a bunch of ways.  I heard that the MC was different from the usual xianxia male lead archetype… He kinda was at first, maybe, but that only lasts for a few dozen chapters.

It isn’t bad, and I think it’s probably one of the better ones so far(I’ve only read until chapter 140-ish) However, there are just so~ many things that piss me off about it lol  They use the same exact formula as every other xianxia out there: The MC is super strong compared to other people at the same stage as him, but he’s ALWAYS getting into situations where he can’t even fight against the opponents, because they’re just way too overpowered.  Then there’s the whole thing where he needs to consume massive amounts of drugs to get stronger and it’s harder for him to ‘level-up’ and ‘rank-up’ because he’s basically an Elite lol.

If you want to know why Michael does want to be an Elite, just read ISSTH or any other Xianxia, since it’s always the same thing.  Seriously, why do those authors ALWAYS have to cripple their characters?  Is it so that they can show off constantly?  Maybe it’s just so that they can drag out the story for 3000 chapters and have the MC constantly in a position of weakness, where his friends and family can easily be murdered or raped, just to add in a bit of drama?  I also finally dropped Martial God Asura at like chapter 372, since it was just getting too annoying with all the rape.

Okay, I’m done ranting for now… Wow, I just wanted to promote a few stories and it turned into a list of everything I hate about xianxia lol.  Well, there’s also the fact that I can’t stand all the Sects, Clans, Empires and other corrupt, disgusting, and horrible political systems that are always prevalent in those kinds of stories.  I think that xianxia would be way better if the MC just went out into the wilderness, and didn’t interact with people, ever… but no, it’s always about people.  It’s always about petty arguments, turning into genocide and women are always treated like objects, while everyone is a slave in one way or another.  Every time a man besides the MC sees a beautiful woman, they try to rape her, and even the MC is usually a misogynistic bigot.

Okay, I need to stop now lol… The more I talk about xianxia, the more pissed off I get, yet I still read them roflmao!  Ugh, I can’t believe I just spent 30 minutes writing this…

A Message for New Writers

Okay, this isn’t exactly a rant, but more like an instructional guide… It’s actually just a single piece of advice lol.

I’ve seen countless amounts of fanfictions and original works that suffer from a fairly common illness: Unable to Understand Title Capitalization Disorder.

Now, I won’t claim to be some kinda magical grand wizard of title-making, though I have been at this for a while now.  However, I’ve seen title-errors so~ many times, that I finally decided to share this Legendary Quality writing tool: Titlecapitalization.com.

I don’t know about other people, but when I see a story which has spelling, grammatical, and capitalization errors in the title… I won’t read it lol.  Well, I don’t have time to go around reading copious amounts of stories on RRl and other such sites lately, cause of the whole “Hardcore OP-ness” thing, but I just randomly decided to make this post because… I can? 🙂

Anyway, chapter 153 and 154 will be released from the Arcane Prison in about 5 hours from when this is posted.  If you’re reading this a few hours from when I post it, then you might have to do a little math, but I’m basically just releasing them at the normal time.

Postponing Break Day

I’ve already said this in a comment, but since people usually don’t read those, I needed to make a post about it.  Basically, because of the whole “The Boss battle still hasn’t started yet?!” thing, I decided to push my break back a day.

In roughly eleven hours, both chapters are going to be posted pretty close together.  I might stop posting an hour apart, if the view-count increases because of this, if it decreases, then I might keep doing the hour apart thing.

The guy who was posting links to Hardcore OP-ness on Reddit stopped… so, if anyone wants to start doing that, I’d be grateful.  Anyway, as always, I’m gonna shamelessly advertise Donations.  I’m currently working on chapter 182, so the gap is starting to widen(For now.)

Of course, that gap is actually to reduce the pressure on me, so I can write more and faster.  Break Day is similar; I keep writing, but because I don’t have to post 2 chapters, it’s more like, instead of 14 chapters a week, I only ‘have to’ write 12.  Somewhere along the line, there are days where I can’t write 2 chapters, so it’s helpful to me.

Anyway, I’m about to go to sleep soon, so if you donate or pledge and don’t receive an immediate email or reply, then that’s the reason.  I should be awake again within 8 to 12 hours of unconsciousness(Whenever that may be) lol.

Scheduling

Well, that illusory break seems to have vanished in an instant.  Anyway, considering that I actually wrote more during the break, than I normally do… Well, whatever, the point is that I’m going to start taking these fake-breaks once every week.

It’ll probably be Monday or Saturday?  I think it’s Monday today, but that doesn’t really matter.  It’s definitely the 14th, and since I like sevens, the next one should probably be on the 21st.

The reason is actually so that I can write faster, roflmao.  It didn’t really feel like a break, but oh well, I’m currently working on chapter 149.  Chapter 123 will be released in approximately 13 hours, and chapter 124 will come out an hour after that.

I would also like to thank all of my pledges and donors for their amazing support… though, I’m pretty sure I did that already in emails.  Still, I figured I might as well do it in this post, since I don’t really have anything else to talk about… Anyway, time to get back to writing, lol.

QQing About Poor-People Problems

The new chapter comes out in about forty-five minutes.  This is basically me just copy/pasting my Donations page into the form of a post.  If you want to know why… Well, because not many people even read it?

I honestly don’t expect anything from this, because out of ten thousand people, there would probably only be a handful of amazing and super-awesome people who are willing to sacrifice their hard-earned money, in order to help me out.  It’s not as if no-one donates, cause there certainly have been a few, and even a single dollar would be incredibly generous from my perspective :).

I’ve kept donations anonymous, because unless the person writes “Mention that I donated on the donation page.” and gives me a name that they want me to call them, I’d feel awkward announcing their actual name lmfao.  Also, if you do the whole Patreon thing, then you set up your own profile, and there isn’t really much for me to do?

I’m not a translator, so I don’t have an infinite supply of other people’s work that I can consistently pump out. Thus, I can’t really ‘speed-up’ my writing depending on how much money people throw at me. Well, I could certainly try, but the quality would drop by a lot.

On the other hand, the list of things that I can’t afford to fix or replace is growing daily: ten year old computer that barely works, broken desk-chair, broken bed, broken ice-machine in my freezer, ect. Basically, I don’t expect to receive enough money from this to pay for any of those things.

However, I’ve had this blog for a while now, and I figured that since everyone else has one, I wanted a donation button as well. It may not be particularly glamorous, but at least it exists now.

Addiction + Status Update on Chapter Eleven

No, this is not about drugs or alcohol… this is about games like “Cookie Clicker” and “Clicker Heroes” or even “The Gate“(My current addiction)  My advice: Don’t play them!  Stay far away and never click those links, because your soul will be corrupted and your mouse will literally break.  Well, “The Gate” isn’t quite as bad as the clicker-duo, but it’s still pretty devastating to your sleeping schedule lol.

Ironically, my purpose for this post was to give you a link to “My Save Data” for “Clicker Heroes” because well… I played it for so damn long, and got so far in it, that it’s kind of a shame for it to just vanish into obscurity :(.  You basically just go to the doc, Ctrl + A, and copy it all; then you go into “Clicker Heroes” and paste the giant clump of randomness into the “Import” thingy in the settings.  Now, if you already play it, and you want to see my progress, just make sure to save your own data to a notepad or google-doc before checking mine out.  Sigh, regardless of how much time I wasted on that damn game, I’m sure there are plenty of crazy people out there who have spent way more time and effort getting even farther than I did, but I still think that my OCD took me pretty far lol.

Anyway, chapter 11 of Immortal Soul had a few delays… because I wasn’t 100% sure which way to go with things, and at one point I almost started writing a new story, (Kind of like a Xianxia-style genre?) but eventually realized what I wanted to happen in chapter 11 and started writing it again.  I’m currently about 4500 words in, so probably halfway done; it’s going to be a relatively long one, compared the last few.  It’s not really a spoiler, since I’ve been planning this for the past… I don’t even know how long exactly, but chapter 11 is definitely going to be in Lorelei’s perspective; chapter 12 will more than likely be in Amber’s perspective, but I might end up making it 3rd person instead(Like chapter 9 and all of Questing lol).

Oh yea, I forgot that I haven’t posted chapter 10… lmao, well, I still haven’t edited it yet, because I’ve been focusing on writing and don’t want to lose my very flimsy concentration.  Basically, when I finish writing chapter 11, I’ll most likely write chapter 12 immediately afterwards, and since it will probably be a short chapter, I’ll hopefully be able to finish both of them this week.  Then I’ll have to edit them, which could take a while, or it could be super-fast depending on how distracted I am lol.
