Well, that illusory break seems to have vanished in an instant.  Anyway, considering that I actually wrote more during the break, than I normally do… Well, whatever, the point is that I’m going to start taking these fake-breaks once every week.

It’ll probably be Monday or Saturday?  I think it’s Monday today, but that doesn’t really matter.  It’s definitely the 14th, and since I like sevens, the next one should probably be on the 21st.

The reason is actually so that I can write faster, roflmao.  It didn’t really feel like a break, but oh well, I’m currently working on chapter 149.  Chapter 123 will be released in approximately 13 hours, and chapter 124 will come out an hour after that.

I would also like to thank all of my pledges and donors for their amazing support… though, I’m pretty sure I did that already in emails.  Still, I figured I might as well do it in this post, since I don’t really have anything else to talk about… Anyway, time to get back to writing, lol.

Taking a Break Tomorrow

As many of you have noticed, I’ve been working(Writing and Editing) every day for the past two months!  Before that, I was also writing nonstop at a terrifying pace, for at least a month… but even before that, I was constantly working on Immortal Soul.  Before that, I was working on Questing, and before that was Immortal Soul, lmfao.

However, when I was writing Immortal Soul and Questing, I had a lot more time and there wasn’t nearly as much pressure for me to release chapters consistently.  Anyway, I need a break, and by that, I mean that I’m gonna go a day without posting.

In six hours, I’m still going to release two chapters, but after that, it’ll be 48 hours before I post again.  This is just a heads up, so that people don’t ruin my break by constantly asking stupid questions like “When are you gonna post the next chapter?” or complain about how I went a day without posting lol.

Sigh, yes, I am sighing in reality at this moment, because while I say it’s a break… I’m still gonna be writing!  For fuck’s sake, it’s an illusory break!  The break doesn’t even exist for me!

Ugh, the alternative was cutting down the posts to 1 a day, but I don’t want that to become a habit lol.  Basically, what happened, was that I’ve been binge-reading lately, and it’s making me get all fucked up as far as the days are concerned.  So~, while it seems like 1 day for me, it actually turned into 2, and even though I wrote 2 chapters, I was starting to fall behind.

Thus, I need to have a post-less day, where I can focus on only writing, and not be under any pressure.  In a sense, it’s kind of like a break for me too, because I won’t have to edit or worry about answering people’s comments(Which takes more time than editing) rofl.

Maybe I should think about getting someone to help me moderate and deal with the site?  The incentive would be that they would read the chapters a little earlier than other people, since I schedule them ahead of when they’re released lol.  If anyone’s interested in something like that, let me know.

Also, for those of you who are supporting me on Patreon and paying me ten dollars a month to write… Well, there’s never a break for you, cause you can read at least ten or so days ahead of everyone else lol.  Although, there’s only 2 people doing that at the moment.

If you’d rather just of ten dollars or more, then you can still get that same treatment.  Remember, these are unedited chapters that may be subject to change lol.  If you have already made a donation of ten dollars or more, then let me know in a comment and I’ll send you an email.

If you’d rather judge me for giving preferential treatment to people who donate money… Then go ahead, because I’m too poor to afford a new goddamn computer, and when this one dies, I definitely won’t be able to keep writing roflmao.  If you’re getting me to post over a hundred chapters for free, the least you could do is not complain about the methods I need to use so that I can keep writing :P.

Addiction + Status Update on Chapter Eleven

No, this is not about drugs or alcohol… this is about games like “Cookie Clicker” and “Clicker Heroes” or even “The Gate“(My current addiction)  My advice: Don’t play them!  Stay far away and never click those links, because your soul will be corrupted and your mouse will literally break.  Well, “The Gate” isn’t quite as bad as the clicker-duo, but it’s still pretty devastating to your sleeping schedule lol.

Ironically, my purpose for this post was to give you a link to “My Save Data” for “Clicker Heroes” because well… I played it for so damn long, and got so far in it, that it’s kind of a shame for it to just vanish into obscurity :(.  You basically just go to the doc, Ctrl + A, and copy it all; then you go into “Clicker Heroes” and paste the giant clump of randomness into the “Import” thingy in the settings.  Now, if you already play it, and you want to see my progress, just make sure to save your own data to a notepad or google-doc before checking mine out.  Sigh, regardless of how much time I wasted on that damn game, I’m sure there are plenty of crazy people out there who have spent way more time and effort getting even farther than I did, but I still think that my OCD took me pretty far lol.

Anyway, chapter 11 of Immortal Soul had a few delays… because I wasn’t 100% sure which way to go with things, and at one point I almost started writing a new story, (Kind of like a Xianxia-style genre?) but eventually realized what I wanted to happen in chapter 11 and started writing it again.  I’m currently about 4500 words in, so probably halfway done; it’s going to be a relatively long one, compared the last few.  It’s not really a spoiler, since I’ve been planning this for the past… I don’t even know how long exactly, but chapter 11 is definitely going to be in Lorelei’s perspective; chapter 12 will more than likely be in Amber’s perspective, but I might end up making it 3rd person instead(Like chapter 9 and all of Questing lol).

Oh yea, I forgot that I haven’t posted chapter 10… lmao, well, I still haven’t edited it yet, because I’ve been focusing on writing and don’t want to lose my very flimsy concentration.  Basically, when I finish writing chapter 11, I’ll most likely write chapter 12 immediately afterwards, and since it will probably be a short chapter, I’ll hopefully be able to finish both of them this week.  Then I’ll have to edit them, which could take a while, or it could be super-fast depending on how distracted I am lol.

Hmmm, for those of you who don’t care about anything I just said… Here are the Cats you’ve been waiting for!

Act Four of Immortal Soul

It’s been a pretty long time since the last chapter I posted, but it’s not like I haven’t been working on “Immortal Soul.”  In fact, “Questing” takes place within the same universe and is pretty important to the ‘main-story.’  Plenty of important information has been revealed in those first ten chapters, but it is definitely written in a different style, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Anyway, I’ve written chapter 6 of “Immortal Soul” and just finished editing it, so almost immediately after this post, you should be able to see it pop up.  However, I won’t be releasing the chapter on RoyalRoadL until I’ve editing/writing up to chapter 9… which shouldn’t take that long.  As for the reason… it’s because I feel a lot more pressure from RoyalRoadL lol.  Anxiety I guess?  The people who really want to read ahead will be able to do it on this site, and when I’m ready for a bit more attention, I’ll post them on RRL then.

Bad News

Unfortunately, my computer is reaching the end of it’s life.  It’s been nearly ten years since I bought it, and well… nothing lasts forever.  For people who don’t read my story, this probably won’t affect them, but for those that do… I can’t write without a computer.  I could obviously scribble down things on paper like our ancient ancestors did, millions of years ago, but I still wouldn’t be able to upload it to the internet.

Since I don’t know exactly when my computer will actually stop working, I can’t be sure how much time I have left.  Everything I’m currently working on is saved in google-docs, so I won’t lose anything in that sense… but if I can’t use a computer, then I definitely wouldn’t be able to post anything lol.  Essentially, this is just a heads-up to anyone who cares.

I’ve finished chapter 10 of “Questing” and volume 4, chapter 6 of “Immortal Soul” plus I’ve almost finished chapter 7 as well.  I need to edit and post them, but after those, I might have to go back and finally start revamping the first two volumes.  My goal is to make them into a sell-able form, and then put them on Amazon for a few dollars a piece.  If I sell enough, I could hopefully make enough money to buy a new computer, otherwise… Well, if I suddenly disappear for a few months, you all know what happened.

Questing

Okay, I’ve been a little hesitant to start releasing these chapters, because of the writing equivalent of stage-fright… but, I think that it’s about time I start posting them.  I’ve written nine chapters so far, and I think there will probably be one or two more before volume one of “Questing” is completed, so hopefully people will like it.

I think that the disclaimer for “Immortal Soul” is sufficient for this story as well, because it’s relatively mature.  There hasn’t been any real sexual content so far, but there is quite a bit of profanity in the dialogue; there’s a bit of gore, though probably not that much.  Aside from that, it’s in third person POV so if you dislike that style of writing, you probably won’t like “Questing.”

The first volume of this story takes place between V-4 Ch-5 and Ch-6 of “Immortal Soul” so if you haven’t read up to that point, it may be difficult to understand some of the settings.  Welp, here it goes…

Took A Break

For a few weeks I stopped writing, and just did a lot of reading… well, I obviously did other things too, but the time that I normally allocated to writing, was whittled down to nothing lol.  Sorry about not informing everyone that I was taking a short break, but I felt kinda weird about writing a post about it; I didn’t really plan to completely halt my progress, it just happened?

Anyway, before that relatively long reprieve I had written the first 2 chapters of “Questing” which are about 10k words total, and the last two days I finished working on the third chapter.  I had originally intended for it to be a short side-story or maybe a long one-shot lulz, then it turned into more of a spin-off.

Even-though I personally like it, I’m still hesitant to start posting the chapters… because I know that there will be plenty of obnoxious people who will say things like “Stop wasting your time on this story, and keep writing the original.” or “I like this story much better than the other one, so focus on this one more.” and there’s probably going to be complaints about the different writing style.

Maybe some authors can easily brush off insults and trolling, but I just haven’t reached that level of enlightenment yet rofl, I still care what my readers think :P.  If someone tells me that my story is bad, it seriously bothers me, and makes it difficult for me to concentrate on writing seriously; thus, I’m hesitant to reveal the chapters that I’ve written so far, because I’ve invested too much time and effort into “Questing” to simply give up on it.

What will most likely happen, is that I will finish the first part of “Questing” which will most likely have at least 5 chapters, then I’ll start working on chapter 6 of Immortal Soul’s main-story.  I think that I’ve gotten pretty good at writing in third person now, so I will probably be able to create a chapter that I find satisfactory; then chapter seven will most likely be the Lorelei chapter, then another Michael chapter, then maybe an Amber chapter for the first time ever, and back to Michael for the final few chapters of Act 4.

Keep in mind that I am truly horrible at planning things, so nothing that I said in the last paragraph should be taken too seriously lol.  Although, I’ve been planning the Act like that since the very beginning, things change, and I can’t be sure of what I’ll do until I actually do it rofl.

Since I can’t think of anything else to say, here’s a video of cats doing weird, but cute, things!

Also, I still haven’t decided yet, but I’ll probably add a fifth member to the ‘party’ in “Questing” so I kinda need to decide on their race.  I was originally going to make ‘him’ a human, because Julia is seriously the only human character in the entire story so far lmao.  However, cat-tribe, dog-tribe, and fox-tribe are all basically humans, plus tails and animal ears, so I could also do something like that.  The team is currently, 3 females and one male, so it feels kinda unbalanced… it’s definitely not a harem, but an extra male would be nice.  Of course, I did think of adding in a dryad or some other kind of ‘neutral’ gender person.  Maybe a male fairy(basically just an elf with insect-like wings, normal-ish sized versions of pixies lol) or some other race that I haven’t thought about yet lol.

If anyone wants to proof-read(You don’t actually have to edit anything, just read what I’ve written so far and tell me what you think of it) I could really use a confidence booster lol.  There are already four unedited chapters of “Questing” which I’ve written so far, but I’m planning on writing chapter 5 and maybe a sixth chapter before actually editing and posting them… it would be nice if I could have some proof-readers to help me out 😛 but I’m not getting my hopes up lol.

Working on A Side Story?

When I saw the new contest on Royal Road, I really wanted to enter it… but then reality set in rofl.  For anyone who has read anything that I’ve written, you should know by now that I honestly can’t stand censorship.  I do in fact censor myself to a certain degree, otherwise there would be: hardcore and detailed sex scenes, incredibly unnecessary gore scenes, lots of romance every chapter, more weirdness than most people would be able to stand or understand, and overall… it would take a lot more time for me to get anywhere in the actual plot.

However, I feel that by following those tight restrictions on the contest, the actual story will lose a lot of its luster.  Also, since this is technically a side-story, that means I can leave out a lot of important information regarding various subjects that I’ve already covered a great many times throughout the story so far.

The tentative title is “Questing” and just like the name suggests, the main cast will be a small group of noob adventurers, some of which have actually been in the main story to some extent.  It starts around the time chapter 5 ended, which was roughly 4 months before the chapter “Cataclysm” but I have no idea how much time will pass throughout the side-story.

To be completely honest, I’ve always been hesitant about writing side-stories, mainly because on Royal Road, people typically don’t read them or actually demand that you stop wasting your time writing about something that isn’t the “Main Story” from the “Main Character’s” perspective.  Even for “Harem Reaper” where I did write around 7 incredibly short little stories, each of which took me less than an hour or so to write, I remember their views being absurdly small and quite a few people insisted that I shouldn’t have wasted my time on them.

Anyway, if anything, this might be closer to a spin-off type of situation, or perhaps it may actually end up being so important that I deem it either Chapter Six, or the interlude of this volume.  Another reason why I’ve decided to write this particular side-story, is that I haven’t written in 3rd person perspective for a whole six months… it’s been a while, and I’ve hesitated in writing 3rd person main-story content because of that.

It should be finished within a week, and be 7k to 15k words long, it will be similar to a “One-Shot” in a sense… but depending on the popularity, I may write a sequel or two.  I personally never read one-shots, because I hate that feeling after they’re over, so don’t expect everyone to die in the end roflmao… or at least, don’t expect them to stay dead even if they do die :P.  I’ve always hated tragedies, but aside from that, in the “Immortal Soul” story, I’ve clearly stated that “Death is a lie, a trick, an illusion, a fantasy… but suffering is real.” (The Archangel 11, Luna)

Essentially, dying isn’t the worst possible outcome, and things don’t often go very well for a lot of people… plus, it’s not nearly as funny when everything is all rainbows and sunshine.  Even the most adorable puppy-dog and kitty-cat, will still shit all over the fucking place, and mark your carpet as their territory.

Finally Finished Chapter Five!

It’s taken me two weeks, but I finally wrote and edited chapter 5.  Sorry for taking so long 😦 but at least the length of this chapter is pretty substantial.  It was written in a style similar to chapter six and seven of volume two, basically… really damn long and filled with a lot of information lol.

There was a bit of everything mixed into it, and it was kinda time-skipish, but with this… I was finally able to explain a ton of stuff that I wanted to in the first four chapters but never really had the chance.  Like I mentioned in the last update-post, chapter 6 will most likely be in third person perspective… which could turn out really well, or go horribly awry.

Aside from that, I might work on “Yuri’s Research Data” or “Luna’s Observation Files” which are basically just pages to talk about the different races and characters in a… less than orthodox fashion lol.  If you have suggestions, feel free to comment 😛

Hopefully, when I wake up tomorrow, I’ll be able to completely edit Chapter 5, and be able to post it.  Although, since I wake up at weird times… well, lets just say, within 48 hours rofl.

I’ll also be posting all of Act 3, and the first four chapters of act 4, in the form of… posts, before posting chapter 5.  I plan on getting the table of contents filled with links too, but it’s not a high priority lol.

Fun Fact: While posting chapters earlier, I realized something pretty ridiculous… Raelin’s original name was actually Raenil Nirorneth.  Then I randomly started calling her Raelin Nerorneth in chapter 11.  I can’t believe that no one told me about that 😦

Anyway, before editing, Chapter 5 is up to 14.5k words, after editing it should be over 15k.  Hopefully the ridiculously long length will somehow make up for me taking so damn long to write it lol.

I haven’t started working on it yet, but I’m probably going to write chapter 6 in third person PoV… who that third person is, I’m not quite sure yet.  It’s not like I haven’t written anything in Immortal Soul in third person PoV so far, so it shouldn’t be weird, hopefully.

Several people asked me to talk about the tiny mouse people, and I personally would like to tell a few short stories about various characters, in a sense, chapter 6 will likely be an interlude.  To be completely honest, I was planning to add a prologue, epilogue and interlude, among other things, into each of the volumes I’ve already written… once I’m done with volume 4 that is, because I’m only about half-way finished this Act.

When I go back and read volume 1 especially, it’s incredibly painful to resist the urge to edit everything lol.  Unfortunately, the amount of editing required is so extreme, that I would literally have to double the lengths of the first few chapters.

Okay, I really need to stop typing now and go to sleep 🙂
