Hua Mei had her ‘Vicious Maw’ ability, which could only be practiced by people who were related to sharks. Normal books did exist and there were even weird holographic projectors, but the main advantage of those fancy jade slips was the temporal dilation. Of course, there wasn’t actually any alteration of time itself. My brain was simply working way faster than normal and the information within was able to be imprinted into my mind more efficiently. Honestly, if it wasn’t for you guys and/or girls out there donating, I wouldn’t be able to afford to keep writing. I definitely would have stopped writing last year if it wasn’t for all of you out there who donated and supported me.
By the way, I know that a lot of translation sites have so-called ‘sponsored’ chapters. Even a lot of writers have been doing that lately. I never really did anything like that before and actually, I wouldn’t know how to do it lol. What I mean is that I don’t know how to make that fancy ‘sponsored’ bar thingy that they have. Otherwise I would totally make sponsored bars for the various stories… For example, I haven’t written a chapter of “Questing” or “Immortal Soul” in over a year. However, if people sponsored a chapter of either, I would definitely stop writing “The Dao of Eros” in order to write a chapter of either of them. Same thing with “The Vanilla God” and “Hardcore OP-ness”.
When I started the Donations and Patreon thing, I was only working on HCOP, that was it. Plus, I was able to write a lot faster because I didn’t really need to think much about anything and just do whatever. Then, towards the end of ‘Book 1’, I actually started working towards an ‘ending’ of sorts. After it happened, I started working on ‘Book 2’ but… Well, to be completely honest, ‘Book 2’ is basically a different story lol. What I mean is that, although it does indeed happened directly after the events of Book 1, “Noobaggedon” is going to be much closer to the first ‘Book’ in the way it’s written and the fact that it takes place in Arcana(Immediately after the events of the Epilogue).
I’ve basically just been writing wherever and whenever my inspiration takes me. People who donate or pledge at least 10 dollars get access to a lot of stuff… For example, “Hardcore Legacies” is currently at 106 chapters, “The Vanilla God” is at chapter 9, and “The Dao of Eros” is at volume 3, chapter 23.
By the way, for everyone who Donated or Pledged, let me know if you want me to put your name on the ‘Donations’ page and make sure to tell me how much money you donated(if you want). Honestly, aside from that very first guy who donated like 200 dollars, no one else has ever told me that they wanted their donation to be made public.
If someone could tell me how to do that whole sponsored bar thing, that’d be cool… Until then though, for those of you who have donated and have access, I’ve added a ‘suggestions’ doc for you guys to tell me what you want.
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about this before but, if you’re using my website without adblock on, thank you very much! I don’t get much from ads, but it still adds up to something decent. So if you want to support me, but can’t donate or pledge, just read my stories without adblock on. I think that probably only a third of the people who view my site actually have adblock turned off. 1 view without adblock on, gives me like 2 ad impressions… I’m not totally sure how ad impressions work exactly, since they seem kinda random, but 100,000 of them is roughly 50-100 dollars? Although, there was one month where I only got 15k and they gave me .38 cents, so who knows how they actually work?
Anyway, that’s pretty much everything I can think of at the moment… So don’t use adblock, donate if you want to help me survive and if you’re a donor or patron, you’ll have a say in what I actually write. There are actually a decent amount of stories that I’ve never posted and are just sitting around, waiting to be written…
Also, this is kind of random, but I’ve wanted to try streaming before lol. I’ve also wanted to try recording an audio book roflmao. Can you imagine “Hardcore OP-ness” as an audio book?
I wish I knew someone like Meghan McCarthy to do Jasmine’s voice. Unfortunately, no, I’m not good at imitating voices rofl. Singing… kind of. I have a pretty good vocal range when it comes to singing, but speaking, not so much. Honestly, I always wanted Sarah to be British, but I don’t know how to write a British accent. Not like high-class British though, or maybe Scottish would be better? I can barely even understand Scottish accents though, so I definitely can’t ‘write’ them out phonetically lol. Michael is from Baltimore, so he kind of talks like my father, where I don’t actually have an accent unless I intentionally try to have one?
Sigh, if I made one of these “Try Not To Laugh Challenge Videos” it would just be 10 minutes of me laughing hysterically and eventually asphyxiating myself to death lol. I’m the type of person who laughs at everything though… Continue reading
