Hardcore OP-ness

 

Synopsis

Most people pray for good health, a loving family, and to win the lottery.  I asked “Can you send me to a game-like fantasy-style world?  It can’t be too unrealistic, but also, it would be nice if I was immortal to some degree.  Oh yea, no rape or slavery either, ’cause then I’ll have to spend the whole time trying to build a perfect society, and I’d rather not have to deal with all that nonsense.  No other players, ’cause that always creates a ton of annoying drama; I just want to have a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable time.”

Three years later, after I had completely forgotten about all that… well, better late than never I suppose.  The moral of this story, is to be careful what you wish for; also, cuteness is justice, so don’t complain if adorable bunnies beat you to death and devour your corpse.

      • Well, they aren’t really books to be honest… Hardcore OP-ness and Hardcore Legacies are basically 2 different series. Obviously they’re both deeply related to each other, but the essential essence is different? Anyway, I still haven’t finished writing Hardcore Legacies, but it’s almost finished(Like 5-10 more chapters to go) As for Hardcore OP-ness… There will obviously be a direct sequel series, Noobaggedon, but it’s going to be a while. I’ve got a lot of work to do… Right now I’m trying to publish TDoDK on Kindle, but it might take a week or two. After that, I don’t know what I’ll do… I might finish writing Hardcore Legacies. Or I could edit and publish the first book of “The Dao of Eros”. See, I have like 18 books ‘written’ but not polished and hardcore edited enough to publish. It takes money to survive, as everyone knows, and although I do get donations/pledges, it’s not nearly enough to survive on. I need to make more money in order to keep writing lol.

    • No, Hardcore Legacies is a series, which has 106 written chapters so far… However, it will probably be broken down into 3 books when I get around to it. Also, there are probably 4+ chapters left.

      Hardcore OP-ness is kind of sort of over, in the sense that when I continue writing it, I’ll probably call it something else.

      HCOP has about 5-6 books. The direct continuation will be called Noobaggedon lol.

      • so basically, the answer to what i wanted is that you just didnt post yet all the chaps of hardcore legacies, even though its technically “finished”? or do you plan to still write more on it?

        also, noobaggedon planned writing date? xP

      • I think I made a post a while ago that explained my writing/editing plans for the future. At the moment, I’m trying to fully edit TDoDK and then publish it on kindle as an Ebook. Then I’ll do the same for the first 3 books of TDoE. Well, if you find the post, it covers the rest of my plans…

      • You know you could just tell me about stuff like this in a mail mike, but wouldn’t a PDF/EPUB of book 1 be like.. over 1500 pages long?

        It’ll be quite ridicolous wich is why I reccommended doing it in parts of 4 arcs but ohwell XD

        Anyways if you think through it a bit and tell me what you want to do with Arc titles/Chapter Titles I could whip up something decent. (Now that I look at it you have a version on Drive, Want me to use that?) I’ll make some edits to it and add it to PDF/EPUB, the main change I might make is changing it from 11 to 12 in size since it’s kinda hard to read 11 on something small like a phone.

        Anyways tell me if you think it’s a good idea!

  29. I love reading HCOP. but, did i ruin it for myself a bit for reading book 1 and 2 that you’ve posted so far before even starting to read any of immortal soul? I hope not though. 😦

    • Nah, HCOP kinda-sorta takes places before “Immortal Soul”… Of course, time is relative, so it’s hard to really say that IS happens after HCOP lol. I mean, technically, the second book of HCOP happens ‘before’ the first, and also after the first lol. When you’re going between universes, the concept of time is kinda twisted and deformed. I will say this though, “Questing” starts during the third/fourth book of “Immortal Soul”… But of course, the 4th book of IS takes place around the same time as the 3rd book lol(Because it’s pretty much all first person perspective.)

      • There are some references between every story, but for the most part, they’re all individual stories. Even Questing ‘could’ potentially be read before Immortal Soul, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that lol.

      • Well, I will warn you that I wrote the first 2 volumes of IS about a year and a half ago… So they’re pretty rough, at least in my opinion. Of course, if you’re not trying to edit them, then it’s not so bad rofl. I would read “Immortal Soul”, then “Questing” and if you still wanna read something, there are like 6 chapters of “The Vanilla God”… I do plan on continuing TVG eventually, but I’ve only written 9 chapters and I’ve had other priorities lately QQ. The only other story I’ve written is “Harem Reaper”, but that’s an LMS Fanfic that’s on RoyalRoadL… which has been hiatus for over a year and a half now lol. I might ‘Revamp’ Harem Reaper eventually and turn it into an ‘original’… However, I have a few Virtual Reality stories that I’ve been wanting to write for a long time, so Idk if it would be better to just start from scratch lol.

After wandering for thousands of years on the black seas of chaos net, I have arrived on your shores, looking for some Hardcore OPness, and imagine my surprise that the immortal treasure I found on your crimsonbright island is named Hardcore OPness…I feel the gears of fate churning! My karmic luck have brought me here so lemme get a taste of this opness.
    Though I wonder why no rape and slavery in this story? Or why just these two? Surely there are far worse atrocities in the world that you could have included as well in his wish…
    Is the mc “Mike” an upright moral person?

    • Hmmm, I eventually stopped doing ‘next’ buttons because it was a pain in the ass and when you do posts, there’s already a ‘next post’ button built in? Like, there are times when I post other chapters of stories besides HCOP, and that’s when I put a next chapter button in there.

    • This isn’t the ‘main page’, you should always check the home page of a site if you’re looking for updates or just follow it. You can follow sites on wordpress without receiving email updates as well. Anyway, I won’t be updating the ToC until the first book is completely posted.

  42. hmm…. so I’m like 10-ish chapters away from catching up and I must ask.
    is immortal soul a prequel, sequel, ect?

    I only ask because I want to know if I “can” read it without spoiling/ruining the story of HCOP?… I know form the limited comments I’ve read and summary of immortal soul that there IS a connection of some sort… just…. is it safe? >_< (said almost like anything on this site is "safe" lol )

      • oh and before I forget could I request that all Spanish and other languages have a rough translation next to them in (__) just so I don’t have to go back and forth between your story and groogle transvestite? (google translate)
        like if the MC doesn’t understand it there could be a perspective switch to another character that does and explain it a paragraph or 5 later or something too…. or something… >_>

        you don’t HAVE to of course… but I’d think it’d make it a more enjoyable read that way. 😉

      • I never say anything important in spanish. It’s just usually Talia complaining or saying random things lol. The important part isn’t the meaning of the words, but that she’s saying the words in spanish rather than english. If you want to know what she’s saying, you can translate it, but it’s already translated from english into spanish in the first place(cause my spanish is as bad as my japanese lol)

    Thank you. Thank you for telling a story that appeals to the dark and sticky madness at the heart of so many of our souls, a story that is at times frustrating and at others elating but always strangely thought provoking. You have written the story i never really knew that I needed so desperately in my life until I read it (and I have read all of HCOPness so far and its December,17th as of right now) and now all I can do is thank you with every shred of sincerity I can muster and assure you that your “little” story has touched at least one life… mine.

    A good friend of mine recommended this story to me and sent me the link to wash my mouth of the half-baked and over-powered for no reason disappointment the once wonderful web novel version of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken has become. I came to your story expecting nothing in particular and was greeted by a naked man in a field of grass, his bemusement at his situation matched my own and his gleeful abandonment of the ‘normal’ truly excited me, here was a “Fucking Asshole with a heart of gold and a soul of coal” and he spoke to me, his very nature and unrepentant personal freedom were like a blast of frigid mountain air to the naked body, shocking and refreshing. Reading these stories helped me at a time when I was depressed and unsure of myself and… strangely… watching your protagonist swagger through this strange new world and be his odd and off kilter self gave me hope that perhaps like him, I too could find people who would be able to respect me for who I am, it would take work but it was and is, work worth doing.

    You are the best counselor that I have ever had and I thank you for your words and he life and the hands and the mind that were and hopefully still are behind them. And until you start back writing (if you do) lettuce all sing the song of our people, the new hit single “HARDCORE OPNESS!”
